Not quite what I was expecting and the vehicle coverage and capabilities are disappointing. The gear scan plus has no reset functions for our 2017 Nissan Quest van which was a major consideration for purchase. I looked up the compatibilities before purchase and it was supposed to support it. I wanted to be able to reset the oil change notification and TPMS but instead about all I can do is check live stream data and codes - could have done that with a lot less expensive scanner. Very slow on processing just about every function I have used and the graphing capabilities are not all that great either. I have used on a Chevy impala and Chrysler 300m as well and once again the reset functions do not support the cars. If I had to do it all over again I would have not purchased this. There were not a lot of reviews out there when I was looking to make a purchase so hopefully this rating will help someone to dig a little deeper to make sure it will work for them. Purchasing from Truck ID was simple and delivery was pretty quick. Price was better compared to other sites.

Forget those cheap "Launch" scanners from eBay and Amazon, they aren't real Launch Tech USA products. Free updates for life (currently does 95% of all Foreign, Domestic and Asian to 2017 or greater on special functions listed). This product will perform all the special functions listed in description, and in some slim cases even allow sensor actuation (if supported by on board car pcm, my 08 HHR didn't have support unfortunately, so if sensor actuation is a must you should check out this tools big brother). Has mode 6 basic support (doesn't explain which sensor the data is coming from (shows tags) but will allow you to select which system, evap system or other system and with trouble codes you can guess which sensor), better information than my scantool.net OBDLink MX dongle + software and more capabilities. I am definitely impressed with this product at this price point, it definitely does full system scans and even allows you to see full system live data(you can select Transmission, IMMO, Engine, etc... and even select the named PIDs(Shift selenoid 1, Shift pressure, ECM password status, if correct key is found, misfire data, etc...)). It allows you to see data from on board diagnostics and shows why it didn't pass or did pass. I could literally go on for for hours but I'll just make it short and sweet, this tool does everything its big brother can do aside from sensor actuation(on most vehicles) and special functions/codings not named in the description. Definitely worth the price tag and I would recommend buying to shops and home users. But especially home users because this baby will save you more change than you paid for it in the long run.

I use the diagnostic scanner for work everyday. I can program keys with this machine. I can perform a diagnostic scan on the vehicle while opening another browser watching YouTube. WiFi connection on this machine is great, no problems with disconnection. Very durable and nice looking tablet. Software installation was very easy just needed internet connection. Live data status is great also, used this to diagnose a misfire for a Honda vehicle. I have used Snap on scanners and Autel scanners. I believe Launch Tech is by far the best. Especially for the price. Highly recommended for all technicians in the automotive industry.

Tool is easy to use and open or shop to a new money producing opportunity that we should not have waited this long to do. Don't wait you need this J-Box 2.
