Product Details

Driveshaft Safety Loop by Lakewood®. Lakewood offers safety assemblies for the front and rear ends of your driveshaft to confine them in place should breakage occur to the shaft or U-joint couplings. Prevents possible property damage and injury at high rpms. Sized and shaped for your specific year and model, both front and rear assembly brackets attach to the vehicle frame using bolt holes for existing OEM braces. Heavy gauge steel provides racetrack-grade strength and rigidity, and zinc plating effectively resists corrosion, scrapes, and oil-based contaminants. Driveshaft safety loops are required by all major racing sanctioning bodies, and Lakewood products meet all approval standards.

While a broken driveshaft that turns your vehicle into an immobile, dead hulk at the strip is usually no more than a great embarrassment and inconvenience, pros know there's a good reason all major racing sanctioning bodies require Driveshaft Safety Loop assemblies. Should your driveshaft break anywhere at high rpms, it can damage other components on the car and launch shrapnel at bystanders. A break at the rear can even puncture a differential housing. Lakewood Safety Loops confine driveshaft ends in place in the event of a breakage, caging them in place so they cannot escape. As effective as they are, both are also equally easy to install using existing holes for OEM structural braces. Hardware included in all kits is Grade 8 to provide the highest strength.

Because Lakewood believes products that do not last are not worth building, they take every effort to ensure all components will maintain their integrity over a long period of time. Reinforced, heavy-gauge steel provides the strength and rigidity needed to stand up to the highest stress levels you can put it through, and a zinc plated finish provides a durable coating that is resistant to corrosion, oil-based contaminants, and scrapes.
