KSource 62588G Driver Side Remote Manual
The mirror housing's design and black finish exactly matched the factory original for my 1999 Saturn SL-1. The manual control and cables were the correct size and length, and they adjust the mirror on the installed unit as they should. A good-size piece of foam, which came preinstalled in the housing, provides a snug fit and, presumably, some insulation. The unit arrived in a cloth bag, protecting h finish, and included three lock nuts, which are good to have in case the originals are damaged or fall into an inaccessible place. I did not see installation instructions in the package, so I strongly advise any first-time installer to search on line for the process. A cover, inside the car, must be removed, and it's helpful to know how to do that (by pressing at the points where hidden clips attach). It's also necessary to use a 1.5 mm Allen wrench to loosen the set screw holding the manual control unit in place, and to tighten that screw when the new unit is in place. The rest of the job just requires care as you push the three mounting screws through the existing holes in the door, position the foam for the right fit, and do not over tighten the three nuts, to avoid cracking the plastic mounting posts. (Those plastic posts were an unfortunate choice in the original unit, not a sign of a cheaply-made replacement part.). This was not the first time I've had to replace this car's mirror. The KSource 62588G is a better unit than another brand that I found years ago. Finally, I was very satisfied with CARiD's service. Although the web site said delivery would take several days, I received this unit two days after placing the order. That's very important when the old mirror is being held in place with electrical tape, in snow and ice.
