    Product Details

Sport Series™ Rear Helper Springs by Hellwig®. Quantity: 2 per Pack. Hellwig offers medium-duty secondary helper leaf springs designed to take weight off overly compressed OEM leaf springs and restore comfort and stability to the rear of your truck or van. Recommended for occasional towing needs such as boats or small trailers, these are available in configurations that offer 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500, or 2,000 pounds of load support. Maintains proper rear ride height, prevents original springs from sagging due to sustained load compression, and helps reduce bouncing during towing. 3-leaf design progressively adds support as OEM leaf springs become loaded and compressed. Crafted from heat-treated ASTM 5160 alloy spring steel for maximum strength and resilience. Fitted U-bolts and related hardware are included, and drilling may be required for installation. See Product Options for choices and availability.

    Installation

The suspension of any pickup, van, or mobile home that's weighed down by heavy cargo, permanently affixed equipment, or a trailer is compromised because the rear springs are crushed down to a height they cannot recover from. Ride quality is reduced, and the front of the vehicle points upward. A rear end that is weighed down literally lifts weight off your front wheels, reducing the amount of traction you have for steering and reducing grip the tires have on the road when you need it in fast braking. After enough time, weighed-down springs sag permanently and the effect becomes even worse.

Hellwig's Medium Duty Helper Springs are secondary assist leaf springs designed to eliminate this problem. With a choice of 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500, or 2,000 pounds of support for overwhelmed OEM leaf springs, helper springs will quickly restore proper ride height under load while keeping your ride stable and comfortable while towing a boat or small trailer. As weight increases on the rear of your vehicle, the helper springs take effect gradually as the main springs become more and more compressed. So during normal driving without weight in the vehicle, their presence is invisible without causing any added bounce or harshness. Once installed, headlights and fog lights will be level again – illuminating the road ahead of you instead of the tree tops in the distance. Hellwig produces Medium Duty Helper Springs in the United States, and backs all components with a limited lifetime warranty against failure due to manufacturing defects.

    Hellwig® - EZ-1000 Front Helper Springs
It was a different experience installing these, I'm used to the complete ones and not the split ones. These weren't hard to install, so far I'm pleased with them.
