The GMC G-Series is a lineup of vans produced by GMC division of General Motors from 1964 through 1996. The G-Series was targeted at the market of North America and aimed to meet the demand for reliable utilitarian vehicles. Initially, the G-Series came in a compact van configuration featuring a 90.0-inch wheelbase and making use of a 2.5L I4, a 3.2L I6, or a 3.8L I6. In 1967, the G-Series vans received a substantial facelift, gaining a refreshed exterior styling and becoming available in long- and short-wheelbase configurations. As for the powertrain, the second-generation G-Series vehicles came with an array of V8 engines ranging from 4.6L to 5.7L. For their third generation, the GMC vans were redesigned and marketed under the VanDura name. The final generation of the G-Series vans featured a front-engine design and could be had in a new wagon body style.
