GKN Driveline Automotive Parts

Today, more than half of the 80 million new cars that roll off the assembly lines are equipped with GKN driveline components. GKN is a global manufacturer and innovator that supplies its products to almost all of the world's carmakers. With almost 50 manufacturing sites in 23 countries worldwide, 31,000 employees, and over 1,400 patents, GKN has all the powerful engineering and production capabilities, expertise, and experience to remain the recognized leader in driveline technology. GKN parts are used in everything from economy autos to sophisticated high-performance sports cars.

The story of GKN (Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds) has its roots in 1759, when a small iron furnace was established by a group of industrialists. The company was there to support the railway boom of the 1800s, the advent of the automotive industry, and then expanded into the aerospace sector late in the 20th century. GKN Driveline revolutionized the automotive world in the 1950s by developing the groundbreaking CV joint design and fitting it to the original Mini. This design became fundamental and enabled the use of the transverse front wheel drive vehicle architecture, utilized on many generations of vehicles since its introduction.

As a result, the majority of modern FWD cars come with GKN CV joints. Currently the leading manufacturer of constant velocity joint systems, GKN has a comprehensive technology portfolio with solutions for all automotive architectures. GKN axles and driveline systems utilize compact, lightweight, yet efficient joints that optimize the vehicle's dynamics. These GKN automotive joints are made with the company's proprietary technologies that reduce friction and heat in the driveline, with many of them sourced from motorsports to offer the strength and durability for today's high-power, high-torque applications.

Quality Product, Poor Shipping & Packaging
Rear driveshaft was of good quality, but packaging was pathetic. Seriously, bubble wrap envelopes taped around the ends and center joint. Luckily it's a rugged part, but not a professional way to pack an expensive part. I'd expect this from an Ebay order, not a large part supplier.
