    Smooth Action Great! Tension Action
    This tensioner replaced an old OEM tensioner that squeaked and had a bad pulley this part fit my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 v6 base with no problem, exact fit i installed a new serpentine belt with this tensioner and have had no problems with squeaking just a smooth running pulley system, my wife was amazed at the difference this new part made this tensioner, feels like a solid well made part in your hand, it runs smooth and strong on a daily basis and to top it all off the price for this tensioner was very affordable. Tensioner 's been on vehicle approx a little under a month, this is a gates product, it will perform and last for years or for as long as a tensioner should last.

    Excellent Replacement Part, Installation a Nightmare.
    Had I known what I was getting into, I might have changed my mind. Before tackling this project, I researched the installation process and found little information. I have years of professional mechanic experience and tools but never got into a Lexus RX. Hopefully, my experience may help the next person who attempts DIY installing these parts. It is important to note that the tensioner mount is sandwiched between the A/C compressor and engine block so unbolting the compressor is required. Getting to it is a royal pain as is putting everything back together. Plan on spending several hours to install this part. If had to do it again, I'm sure it would be easier. The front end of the car will need to be jacked up and the RF wheel removed. There is a decent video on YouTube for an alternator R&R which covers most of these steps. 1. Drain and collect coolant 2. Disconnect battery 3. Disconnect upper radiator hose 4. Remove radiator fan assembly 5. Remove old serp belt 6. Remove lower radiator hose 7. Remove alternator (small bracket on the back holding a compressor wire is difficult to access both ways) 8. Unbolt A/C compressor 9. Remove old tensioner 10. Reverse the process to install.     Perfect Fit
