Garvin Wilderness® - Expedition Roof Cargo Basket

Went together without problems. Would like to see a different method of attaching the "runners", perhaps internal spacers to prevent over tightening. I made the assembly without problems but. Another idea would be to provide ribs to position the runners. Using the loctite as specified I hope the runners stay aligned. Locating" ribs might prevent any movement if the securing bolts loosened. I realize the cost would go up but I see benefits. I may be premature regarding movement as I have only used the vehicle about 150 miles with 75 off road. However, I did not have anything in the rack. The quality is certainly apparent but it is going to be a chore to wash or apply any wax on the roof. I hope the paint holds up to the elements as painting it is not something I look forward too. I did find another rack that drops in the OEM as this one. A bit cheaper but the shipping was outrageous as it was a one piece welded rack. My rack was free shipping so I should be happy. Time will tell.

Very well packaged. Very well constructed. Went together perfectly. Fit my 2012 Xterra perfectly. Works great! I am very hard to please and I have been thrilled with this. Does exactly what I needed it to do.

I've only had the rack for a few weeks and haven't had a real chance to put it to use but if the attention to the shipping packaging, instructions, and general feel and appearance of the product is any indication, it will do the its job handily. Definitely made of quality parts and the measurements for assembly were spot on. No misaligned holes etc. Assembly was fairly straightforward and except for placing on the roof for mounting, an easy one person job. I did put it on the roof myself but it would've been easy to slip and scratch the vehicle. I didn't. It would be nice if it had an optional wire/mesh flooring to place over the floor bars to keep smaller items (wood 2x4, pipes etc.) from falling sideways or between the bars but i'm sure I can rig something up myself. Hopefully I can submit an update to this review later on after I have given this rack a good workout but as I have already written, I don't predict any problems. Seems to be a great quality product. Good looking too. Low on the roofline so barely noticeable yet when you do it has a good rugged appeal.

Easy assembly and easy install! Great product!

I put the framing and tube deck together on my granite island top in my kitchen. What impressed me was the trueness and flatness of the product while laying on the island even after all of the factory welded connections came into play. The install followed suit. Layout directions were right on so bolting on the pre assembled rack to my Jeep hard top was just a matter of fact. The look is rugged which is what I imagined. I'll use the rack when needed which may not be that often but it doesn't matter because the look was really my objective. Thanks to Garvin and CARiD for improving my ride. Scott from Troy, NY.
