Frontier Truck Gear® - Black Grille Guard

Grill guard was shipped wrapped in paper with thin plastic over it. Powder coat was damaged in multiple places from shipping. The bolt holes had a large amount of slag that had been coated over. You had to grind off the slag destroying the coating to get parts to bolt flush. The directions lacked detail that could cause installation issues. The design of the guard is nice and installs easy enough. CARiD was great to deal with and offered to replace the item. We like the design of this guard well enough to have it recoated in town and keep it.

The grille guard was easy enough to mount by myself. Showed up wrapped in foam on a pallet. Its all one piece and even sturdier than I imagined. The picture isn't quite right though. Mine doesn't have the bar that runs across the headlights to protect them from deer.

Looks very nice and quality is very good. Only thing I would add to the kit would be some plastic bushings or rubber grommets to put in when the sencers are on the bumper, after you relocate them to protect the wires more than just the snake skin provided. Other than that very pleased with the product and the way it looks on the truck.

Very nice well built just way to much ranch hand is cheaper.

Arrived in great condition in about a week. Install instructions are terrible, but there's a decent YouTube video that helps. Had to trim the tow hook covers and cut notches in the lower skirt, so not exactly a no-mod install, but looks great and is very sturdy. Was missing 2 sensor wires, and Mfg was supposed to send them, but their system didn't like my address, and they waited for me to call again a week later - that was very disappointing.

Easy to install with the right instructions. Call tech support and clear up the issue. It took longer to get the sensor off than installing them on the grille. But love it.

First off: I had gotten a call stating it would be 2 months before I received this item as they are typically made to order. I was stunned when 2 days later, the freight company called to arrange delivery. Big points there! I got this item for my 2002 Toyota Sequoia. When I received the package, I was worried as everything stated it was for an '04 Tundra. Fortunately, once I got into the assembly instructions inside the packaging, it was revealed that this guard will fit on either vehicle family. Assembly was amazingly easy. Using an impact wrench to remove the stock towing recovery hooks from the Sequoia was the most difficult part. One note: the Sequoia has a "double hook" on the passenger side. If you do not use the extra hook with the new assembly, the stock bolts will not fit correctly as they are twice as long as the driver's side. The hook becomes buried in the support frame of the guard, but will still fit and provide the needed offset for the bolts to function correctly. This was not in the provided instructions. Once the 4 mounting brackets are loosely installed, the entire guard easily slots into place. I was able to do this by holding the frame myself and having my 9 year old daughter drop all the bolts into the holes. This will fully support the guard for completing assembly. Once everything was tightened, the guard was perfectly aligned to the body of the truck and improved the appearance of the vehicle drastically. I strongly recommend this item for anyone looking to give their Sequoia a facelift. Frontier makes a top quality product.

This is a solid grill guard. It is by no means 'just for show' - the 2inch tubing and solid welds - this is greatness. I am quite impressed. Installation was not so easy and at the same time - not tough. Of course the YouTube video makes it look way easier. Air tools made this install a breeze though! I Would recommend this product to any friend, any day. I am very happy with this Frontier truck gear - black grille guard.
