The Ford Excursion is a full-sized SUV that was sold in the North American market from 1999 to 2005 (2006 in Mexico). Considered a full-sized 4x4, the Excursion is bigger and heavier than an ordinary full-sized SUV. It was designed for super-sized cargo, towing, and for a larger number of passengers. Further, it was equipped with a massive engine which enabled it to meet these requirements. Excursion buyers were asked to choose one of four engines: a 5.4 L gasoline V8, a 6.8 L gasoline V10, a 7.3 L diesel V8, or a 6.0 L diesel V8. Although these engines provided all the power and torque any consumer might need, they also consumed a lot of fuel. During these years of increasing fuel costs, the Excursion’s fuel inefficiency was a disadvantage for many customers.
Considering the power of an Excursion’s engine, its engine parts must be capable of withstanding heavy loads and demanding use. If any part of the engine is worn or damaged, it should not surprise you to notice its performance suffering. When it’s time to replace engine parts on your Excursion, you will find an extensive selection of all the Ford Excursion replacement engine parts you need on our virtual shelves.
