The Ford Courier name was used on different automobiles manufactured by Ford since 1952. These vehicles are reliable workhorses that spanned many generations, had a lot of configurations and versions, were based on various platforms and built in different countries. Initially, the Courier was a sedan delivery based on the line of Ford's full-size station wagons. Since 1972, a compact pickup produced by Mazda in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia bore the Ford Courier badge. It had better gas mileage than other big pickups of that time. Since 1991, European subsidiary of Ford launched a minivan built on the Ford Fiesta that also received the name Ford Courier. Exactly the same name belonged to a small coupe utility manufactured by Ford in Brazil and exported to other countries.
