The Ford Bronco debuted in 1966 and spanned five generations. This powerful two-door sport utility vehicle was originally engineered to be a small four-wheel drive SUVs and then evolved into a full-size vehicle based on the Ford truck chassis. The author of the Ford Bronco design was Donald Frey, who also had a hand in the Ford Mustang design. First Broncos were off-roaders intended to be competitors to Jeep CJ-5 models. A significant redesign was given in 1978 and moved the Bronco to a larger size category. The production of the Bronco was over in 1996.
