Product Details

FR740 Tires by FIRESTONE®. Season: All Season. Type: Fuel Efficient. Specially designed for those drivers who travel a lot around the country and have to drive in various weather conditions, all-season tires are definitely a bang for the buck. They provide stable handling and year-around traction to ensure comfortable and safe driving.

Firestone tires made their first official racing appearance in 1909 when company founder Harvey Firestone put a set on a car driven by Barney Oldfield in the Indianapolis 300. During a test run for that competition, Oldfield told the assembled onlookers “my only life insurance is Firestone tires.” He and Firestone later had the phrase painted on the side of his racecar, and he toured the country “performing amazing feats of speed.” Firestone is the only tire brand to have appeared in every Indy Racing League contest, and has provided tires to 14 IZOD IndyCar Series champions. The IZOD IndyCar Series and the Firestone Indy Lights provide Firestone, known as “America's Tire Since 1900,” excellent showcases to demonstrate technology, along with the world's largest laboratory for testing and evaluating new materials and construction processes for street and highway tires. They also allow the brand to create more wins and more championships, contributing to the growing success of Firestone Racing.

perfect all season tires
Needed tires that handle rain and dry roads and these do both real good. Ride is smooth. They feel grippy when i hit the gas. Shipped fast and no hassle. happy with them.

Great Tires
So let me say I didn't purchase this tires on on CARiD, I got them from my local tire shop but let me tell you I put these on my truck around 25k miles and my truck now has 68k and I'm just needing to replace these, don't listen to that other guy, these have amazing grip rain sleet or snow and deff a tire that can handle everyday on-road conditions. They are loud tires when traveling, but let me say, they will not let you down.

Snow Testing These Tires on a 2021 SUV Kia Seltos SX Turbo.
1,000 miles on these at time of testing. Yes these tires are a little louder at times, I lost 1 or 2 miles per gallon. With that said I love these tires and they are a more well rounded all season solution for all four seasons that will not leave you stuck some where on a back road. I test drove them tonight 12/24/2020 in 6 or 7 inches of snow on narrow back roads of Canal Winchester, Ohio -- Lancaster, Ohio (at midnight with the temperature at 17 degrees) for 2 hours and they (give the all wheel drive all it needed to work with). I would stop going up each steep hill two or three times and start up again trying to test their limits and they had no problem starting back up again up the hill and also going down the hills working together well with the anti-lock brakes. The depth of the snow would not throw the car around, I felt in control, at 35 - 45mph the front tires was cutting through the deep Icy snow. For myself I feel now I do not have to worry about changing my tires now when the temp gets over 45 degrees like I did using the (Blizzak DM-V2 snow tires one of the best snow tires) on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I think these Firestone Weather Grip tires would be great just using them in the winter as a dedicated snow tire here in Ohio if you wanted but I like the comfortable ride and handling that they give on the dry roads I now am keeping them on all year around. Another thing I have noticed and I can not give you an reason but they are not loosing 2 or 3 of air pressure with the the drastic changing of the temperature all the time like the stock Kumho Majesty Solus (three season tires) Bottom line I feel safe with these tires in all seasons, the brakes stop the wheel but the tire stops the car.

Firestone M/T2
I bought these tires for my F-150 about a year ago. I have put maybe 10,000 miles on my truck since mounting them, and they are showing significant wear. I will say these tires have performed really well in the woods. Particularly in mud and snow. But for overall wear, they suck. I imagine at the rate they are wearing I will be replacing them within a year. two tops! Nice tires for off road performance, but not on road longevity. I will not buy again.

Excellent/Quiet/Nimble Ride!!!
These Weathergrips by Firestone have just the right tread pattern with 4 great channels for tracking smooth at higher speeds and treading water at speed!! Plus, they have side channels to expel water, snow or slush very nicely!! A slight feel on the road with this diverse of a tread pattern but nothing to consider whatsoever since they flow nicely on the highway! And these are designed to get grip at every point of contact, really impressed and looking forward to seeing how well they perform in snow & ice?!!

Excellent Tire
I put these firestone destination le2 on a 1997 Blazer S10 they are a excellent tire they have a good pattern have not had them on Blazer long enough to know, how they wear but they look to be wearing evenly and they do look good on vehicle and going down the road they are very quite I've driven on ice with them on they handled great no sliding always locked to the road done a break test and got in them good they never really slid at all. I'd say to in wet conditions they handled great to never a problem always gripped to road. I also then did a sway test to see how they would lock to the road and turn on a dime and they gripped right away to the road with little to no sidewall rolling. The tire going down the road to made the Blazer seem like it had more control to the road and if you have ever owned a Blazer they are top heavy and sway a lot before I was running Cooper tires on there these are way better then them. I'd say all in all I would recommend this tire to anyone and probably buy them again.

Truly a great tire
This is a great tire, excellent in the mud, the snow and in rain and ice. Self clearing tread design is a huge plus when both on the trail or in snow. Tires wear evenly and are longer lasting then the old Wranglers I had. Truly a great tire.

Nice
I'm currently running the Firestones. They have 25,000 on them and are in great shape. No complaints about handling or traction. I went with them because they had great reviews and the price was right. It's not the most aggressive AT out there but it handles the road well in all conditions.

Great tire
Great tire. I have put about 25,000 on my set and just now noticing some wear on them. I took my Rubicon on a 3500 mile trip across country with these 245/75's and no complaints or problems at all with them. I do rotate my tires often, usually at least every 5000 miles. Road noise is not bad but they do have some. I run about 26lbs of air to keep the tread flat on the ground. Great tire and would recommend them to my own daughter.

I am very happy
I got these tires to replace my OEM Wrangler, which were horrible! So far I am very happy. I drive 40 miles a day and these tires handle great on the street. I have taken them off-road a few times and they have not failed yet.
