    Product Details

Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Ceramic Front Brake Pads (DP31610C) by EBC®. Redstuff ceramic brake pads have always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further. Tested at the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) in witnessed tests early Redstuff reduced car stopping distance in tests by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.

    Installation

Formulated specifically for heavier cars and trucks with high levels of performance, Redstuff™ pads can handle the heat generated by heavy loads and provide long life while generating minimal dust residue. While they provide a more gradual level of grip than EBC Yellowstuff™ pads, their braking power is nonetheless a substantial improvement over semi-metallic brake pads. During independent tests at 100 miles per hour, Redstuff™ brake pads have been shown to reduce the distance it took to stop some vehicles by 50 feet. In the real world, that's three car lengths – a remarkable safety improvement when what's important is on the line.

Ceramic brake pads are used in Formula 1, Nascar, and most forms of championship racing for many reasons. When braking at sustained speeds of over 200 miles per hour, enough heat is generated on brake components to make rotors glow. Ceramic brake pads offer the ability to stay cool under the most severe conditions. Used with perforated rotors, heat buildup is reduced so much that brake fade from fluid reaching boiling temperature is all but eliminated. While you may not drive under these conditions, the benefits of these pads can be enjoyed at any speed. Ceramic brake pads are far quieter due to their higher resonant frequency undetectable by human ears, and once the initial bed-in period of 1,500-miles has passed, you'll rarely hear any noise from Redstuff™ pads. Equally important, the brake dust that ceramic pads produce is far less, finer in consistency, and non-adhesive to wheel surfaces. You don't need to drive on a racetrack to enjoy the benefits Redstuff™ ceramic brake pads offer, and we offer them at a value-packed price that matches what some dealers charge for traditional pads.

    Great Upgrade!
Was running OEM brakes and decided to upgrade to these. These noticeably have more grip and more stopping power when braking. These make a great addition to any performance streetcar!

    Huge Fade and Pulsation
A bit disappointed that the pads were unable to withstand an HPDE event. During the 5th lap of each session, I started feeling pedal fade and pulsation. The only way I wad able to take advantage of the event was to drive at 80% of my cars capabilities. I had previously used blue stuff on the fears but they didn't last more than 15k miles. Red stuff pads, I have these on the front and rear of my ST, do not perform as advertised.

    Redstuff Works Good
The EBC Redstuff Ceramics work good, not great. Long story short I had installed Hawk Ceramic pads on front and back about 5 months ago. But with the Hawks I noticed when traveling at speeds in triple digit you have to be careful not to glaze them over by slowly braking when heated up. And since I was entering a road race. I ordered both Yellowstuff (for the race) and after the race wanted to try out EBC Redstuff. Reasons being the sound of regular pads on RS-7 and amount of dust the oversized large calipered brakes produce is awful. I am so far happy with the EBC Red's except that they produce a lot more dust on my wheels than did the Hawk's. My wheels would stay clean for about week with Hawks. I pretty much have to clean the wheels daily or every other day with the Red's. The one test I have yet to perform is the high speed braking, Hawk's weren't up to the challenge for back to back 1/4 runs at 130 mph, curious to find out if EBC are. Would I recommend these yes, just prepare to clean wheels often. (still not as bad as a regular racing pad by a longshot, along with not ever squealing to a stop.)

The Brake Pads Leave So Much Dust
The pads as mentioned above are not low dust if anything they produce the most dust of any brakes I have ever owned. Even the major box automotive shop brand ones don't produce this much dust.

Was worried, because after purchasing, I read a lot of bad reviews, however, I noticed that almost every bad review was from several years ago. I've had them on for about a month now, and I don't have one single complaint. Great stopping power and they feel great.

    EBC Red Stuff
Product looks like regular OEM pads, but are red. They do last a lot longer than OEM. For being a low dust pad there sure is alot of dust. I use these pads in conjunction with EBC drilled and slotted rotors. My G8 GT will stop on a dime. Great for emergent braking and they don't get hot very quick during heavy braking. I think the price difference is well worth the extra 40 bucks.

Not the worlds best pads but I did front and rear with these brake pads and the stopping power over stock is fantastic. The only down side is the pads didn't come with the metal clips/trays that the pads sit in so i had to use the old ones. Brake dust is about equivalent to stock.
