Features

  • High-grip pads bite quickly and feature less progressive brake application
  • Friction level of .6 hot and .5 cold makes these EBC's highest and fastest-gripping pads
  • Recommended for experienced racetrack drivers only
  • Highly abrasive semi-metallic pad construction is designed to provide the best grip at the expense of brake rotor life
  • Designed for use with low drag multi-piston, performance brake calipers only
  • Features two cooling gaps in the pad surface instead of one for increased cooling and debris collection
  • Backing plates feature vibration-balancing weights to reduce squealing noise under high stress
  • Pads are bonded to backing plates with a layer of chemical bonding material that triples separation resistance
  • Backing plate and side edges of brake pad are orange powder coated for resistance to corrosion
  • Pad surfaces have chamfered edges to reduce contact against rotor lip that forms over time and causes squealing
  • Pads come new with rough, heat-scorched surface designed for improved bedding with rough or worn rotors

Product Details

Orangestuff Full Race Brake Pads by EBC®. This is a set of EBC's highest grip brake pads designed for the fastest and longest levels of racetrack driving where racing-grade multi-piston calipers are used. Pads feature two grooves for cooling, vibration-balancing weights on backing plates, triple-strength chemical bonding between pad and backing plate, and specially developed semi-metallic pad material that offers EBC's highest friction level. NOT legal for street use.

Installation

For the longest and hardest non-street racing applications, the brake experts at EBC have created the ultimate set of replacement brake pads. Orangestuff™ Full Race Brake Pads are constructed of a specially engineered metallic material that bites quickly and severely into brake rotors to provide powerful grip for any heavy racecar. Unlike EBC's Bluestuff™ organic pads that are designed for racing AND street use, these Orangestuff™ metallic pads are legal for racetrack use only because their level of grip makes them more difficult to apply gradually during everyday street driving. And while Bluestuff™ pad material prolongs brake rotor life, Orangestuff™'s extremely abrasive characteristics which give it such great braking power actually wear the rotors down faster.

Because of the intense heat that can build up on brake components, Orangestuff™ brake pads are meant to be used only on high-performance brake calipers with multiple pistons that release faster and more completely with less drag. During EBC tests on a dynamometer where a full 1G of stopping force was applied repeatedly, Orangestuff™ pads survived sustained operation at temperatures of 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit without chipping, cracking, or coming apart. During the dyno test, rotor surfaces were literally glowing red and while the performance of the Orangestuff™ pads dropped slightly under these conditions, the majority of their effectiveness remained. Instead of using rivets to secure pad material and backing plates together, Orangestuff™ pads use an additional chemical layer between the two in order to form a strong bond that provides three times the resistance of pad separation or shear. Four balancing weights built in to the backing plates of the pads ensure high-frequency vibration is cancelled out to eliminate squealing noise.

The Red Stuff
Ordered the brakes and they were delivered in a timely manner (within the week). Had them istalled and they are great!!!! Don't know why I took so long to use these. The low dust is great!!!! My car's rims stay clean longer. Good feeling. Thanks for having them availible and sending them out so quick!!!

Great Upgrade!
Was running OEM brakes and decided to upgrade to these. These noticeably have more grip and more stopping power when braking. These make a great addition to any performance streetcar!

Great Pads but
Pads don't come with hardware or brake grease. Also didn't have the brake clip holes so I drilled those holes in to be able to use the pads effectively. Otherwise than that could immediately tell the difference in braking performance and has pretty good initial bite.

Huge Fade and Pulsation
A bit disappointed that the pads were unable to withstand an HPDE event. During the 5th lap of each session, I started feeling pedal fade and pulsation. The only way I wad able to take advantage of the event was to drive at 80% of my cars capabilities. I had previously used blue stuff on the fears but they didn't last more than 15k miles. Red stuff pads, I have these on the front and rear of my ST, do not perform as advertised.

Redstuff Works Good
The EBC Redstuff Ceramics work good, not great. Long story short I had installed Hawk Ceramic pads on front and back about 5 months ago. But with the Hawks I noticed when traveling at speeds in triple digit you have to be careful not to glaze them over by slowly braking when heated up. And since I was entering a road race. I ordered both Yellowstuff (for the race) and after the race wanted to try out EBC Redstuff. Reasons being the sound of regular pads on RS-7 and amount of dust the oversized large calipered brakes produce is awful. I am so far happy with the EBC Red's except that they produce a lot more dust on my wheels than did the Hawk's. My wheels would stay clean for about week with Hawks. I pretty much have to clean the wheels daily or every other day with the Red's. The one test I have yet to perform is the high speed braking, Hawk's weren't up to the challenge for back to back 1/4 runs at 130 mph, curious to find out if EBC are. Would I recommend these yes, just prepare to clean wheels often. (still not as bad as a regular racing pad by a longshot, along with not ever squealing to a stop.)

The Brake Pads Leave So Much Dust
The pads as mentioned above are not low dust if anything they produce the most dust of any brakes I have ever owned. Even the major box automotive shop brand ones don't produce this much dust.
