Stage 30 Slotted Brake Kit by EBC®. EBC Racing™'s fully-floating 2-piece brake discs combined with performance brake pads represent the ultimate braking upgrade for high powered vehicles driven fast on road or participating in the occasional trackday.
Installation
EBC Racing's 2-piece fully-floating brake discs are engineered from the finest materials without compromise, resulting in one of the highest quality 2-piece brake discs available in today's marketplace. These discs are equally at home on the road or at the race track.
Outer friction rings are cast from high-carbon G3500 disc alloy, giving excellent wear properties and crack resistance even after heavy on-track use. EBC's patented stainless steel SD-Drive bobbins allow the braking ring to float freely and independently of the centre bell, reducing stresses and eliminating the chance of warping, whilst each bobbin location features an anti-rattle clip for totally silent operation. All discs feature 48 curved vanes and are handed to each side of the car allowing effective heat dissipation.
EBC Racing's 2-piece discs often offer a weight saving over OEM parts, helping to reduce rotational un-sprung mass that has a positive effect on driving dynamics. Additionally, when the disc eventually becomes worn, the hub can be retained replacing only the outer friction ring which reduces long term operating costs.
RP-X also has a high friction level from cold, requiring no warmup to achieve maximum braking effect which makes this material well suited for sprint race and hill climb events. Although RP-X is not R90 homologated for use on the public roads in EU member states, the fact this material possesses excellent cold performance means RP-X can be safely used for driving to and from motorsport events where local laws permit. Read More... EBC Racing does however emphasise that RP-X has been developed for peak on-track performance, meaning higher levels of brake dust and brake noise should be expected. RP-X has comparable disc wear to many other popular track and race materials, however RP-X disc wear is considerably greater than EBC Racings other track pad RP-1 which results in high levels of brake dust. Compared to RP-1, RP-X has a 25 per cent increase in friction coefficient across its working temperature range with a much more positive initial bite. This characteristic potentially makes RP-X more suitable on heavy or inherently under-servoed vehicles. For light-medium weight vehicles, cars with non EBC Big Brake Kits fitted, or vehicles with no ABS, the less fierce nature of EBC Racings other track material RP-1 may be preferable.
