Detroit Locker™ Differential by Eaton®. The Detroit Locker is a 100%-automatic locking differential that provides ultimate traction for mild to extreme vehicle applications. Its unique, bullet-proof design is engineered to keep both wheels in drive mode - even is one wheel is lifted off the ground.

During straight-line driving, the Detroit Locker captures 100% of available torque and sends it equally to both wheels. In turns and maneuvers, the internal components unlock to allow one wheel to spin faster or slower as necessary (free wheel). When the vehicle returns to a straight-line driving path, the components re-engage and provide power to both wheel ends. Each application is highly engineered, tested and validated for a variety of uses including racing, towing, off-road, rock crawling and street/strip. Choose the Detroit Locker to get the strongest, most durable performance differential available today. The Eaton Detroit Locker can enhance traction in a variety of vehicles. Units are currently available for front- and rear-axle applications, including c-clip style axles. Warranty

Differential Limited Warranty and Limitations

Eaton expressly warrants each Eaton differential or differential part to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of initial retail purchase when used on private passenger cars and light trucks under normal operating conditions.

Eaton’s obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the worn-out or defective product in accordance with this warranty. Cost of removal and installation are not included, and any incidental and consequential damages are excluded under this warranty, regardless of when the failure occurs. This warranty does not apply to products that have been modified, improperly applied, or installed on vehicles used for commercial or racing purposes.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Any implied warranties you may have under state law are limited to the same duration as this warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusion may not apply to you.

Warranty Exclusions

Eaton’s warranty shall not extend to any Product that has been subjected to the following: (a) accident, damage, negligence, abuse, or misuse; (b) improper installation or maintenance; (c) abnormal operating conditions; (d) alteration or modification; (e) a purpose or application in any way different from that for which it was designed; (f) damage by casualty or shipment; or (g) re-rating the engine to exceed torque capacity of the transmission.
