The story of the company began when its founder McGean decided to develop a heavy-duty front axle for his 1979 Ford F-250, since he was tired of constant breaks and failed to find reliable complete bolt-in 4x4 front axles on the market. After spending many hours on designing new axles, McGean succeeded to develop his own ones and then started to offer the axles for friends, passionate about off-roading. Later, in November of 1988, McGean officially launched his business and Dynatrac became an automotive manufacturer specializing in top-quality front axle assemblies you can trust.
At the end of 1992, Dynatrac moved from McGean’s little garage to his friend’s workshop. Though Dynatrac took all of efforts and time, McGean stood firm being convinced that customers treasure the products that are expertly made in the USA, fit and look every bit as good as if they came that way from the factory. McGean’s commitment to the quality of Dynatrac products was just as strong as his commitment to making Dynatrac stand at the forefront, while maintaining the mantra he still follows: “Provide customers with the most comprehensive information available, regardless of what products Dynatrac offers.” By 1994, 10 years after making his first axle, McGean managed to make Dynatrac his full-time day job, but it was still a one-man show.
Never resting on his laurels, McGean has always strived to develop more and more new advanced products to meet modern market trends and satisfy the most demanding expectations of its customers. In 2002 Dynatrac presented the ProRock 60® that was the first high-clearance off-road axle of its kind and was specially engineered to provide enhanced durability and performance while off-roading.
