    Product Details

Help™ PCV Valve Elbow (46035) by Dorman®. This PCV valve elbow is designed to match the fit and function of the original elbow on specified vehicles, and is engineered for durability and reliable performance.

The emission control system is a combination of parts that are incorporated into vehicles to reduce the amount of toxic emissions exhausted by the engine. Oxygen sensors, catalytic converters, throttle actuators, etc. - all these components work together to help regulate the engine performance and efficiency as well as limit the amount of partially burned or evaporated gases to go into the atmosphere. Even if at least one of them wears out or fails to function, the whole system won’t be able to ensure neither cleaner environment nor optimal vehicle’s performance. If you’ve noticed a decrease in fuel efficiency, reduced power or unstable idle, chances are one of the emission control system components is out of order and you should replace it immediately.

Dorman has you covered with a dazzling line of premium quality replacement emission control parts that allow you to restore reliable operation of your emission control system without spending big dollars. All components are made with the use of the finest materials and advanced manufacturing technologies to bring original equipment quality and reliability. Since at Dorman they use the same industry standard as Original Equipment Manufacturers, you can be sure their products fit, function and look exactly like the originals but cost less than the parts from the dealer. Boasting exceptional durability and wear resistance, the emission control parts designed by Dorman are guaranteed to provide hassle-free service for as long as possible.

    Excellent Low Cost Solution
Traced the screaming noise in the engine to the PCV valve, and a torn diaphragm. Most places suggest replacing the whole oil separator cover, but Dorman now offers this kit consisting of a new diaphragm and a new cover, to replace the one that is inevitably destroyed when you do the job. Note the position of the 'groove' in the top of the old cover. Use a chisel or screwdriver to break the bottoms off the six 'slots' in the old cover. Lift it off and toss it. Clean up the area and, having made sure the new diaphragm is correctly located in the new cover, place it gently over the PCV 'tower', keeping the 'groove' in the right place, and the slots over the pegs in the tower. Push the cover down so that the slots pop over the pegs and lock down. This is tricky, and I found I needed to go around each slot and tap it down with a hammer and an extension rod. If you don't get it down tight all around, you'll get a sighing/groaning noise at idle and shut-down. Nice solution costing much less than a new oil separator cover, and taking less than 10 minutes.
