A full-size sedan, the Dodge Intrepid was unveiled in 1992 in Detroit and its first model year was 1993. Constructed on the LH platform by Chrysler, the model came with a 3.3L V6 engine good for 150 hp paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The powerful 3.5L V6 motor capable of 214 horsepower was offered as an option. Air conditioning and front airbags were standard features for the model. For the 1998 model year, the second-generation Intrepid was presented. It was outfitted with more powerful all-aluminum motors – a 2.7L DOHC V6 producing 200 hp and a 3.2L SOHC V6 good for 225 hp. Both power plants were paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The production run of the Intrepid lasted until 2004 when it was succeeded by the Dodge Magnum and the Dodge Charger.
