A timing belt is designed to synchronize the movement of the engine’s valves and pistons. On many engines, it also drives the oil pump, and water pump. Installed behind the protective cover, this belt is invisible, and that explains how the timing belt has become known as the forgotten belt. When the timing belt breaks the synchronization of the engine parts is lost. When this happens, on most engines the valves interfere with the pistons. As a result, valves can be broken with possibly even more severe and expensive damage to pistons, cylinders, etc. To avoid this, you should check and follow the manufacturer's recommended intervals for timing belt replacement.
Designed for specific applications ranging from normal service to high performance, high temperature engines, where HSN compound is used, this product is manufactured with tough, wear-resistant fabric, high tensile strength cord and molded tooth surface to ensure consistent slip-proof power transfer and high resistance to oil and engine heat. The belt features a molded cog design which runs quieter and high modulus glass fiber cord that delivers precise length stability to keep the engine running smoothly over the life of the belt. The product meets or even exceeds OE performance requirements.
Since 1905, Dayco has been a leader in the automotive parts manufacturing industry. During the early 1900s, Dayco was the first and only company manufacturing the airless tire. By the 1920s, the company had a robust tire manufacturing process in Dayton, Ohio for cars, large trucks and buses. From its founding to today, the company has followed its primary business strategy to anticipate and satisfy all the needs and requirements of its customers by providing innovative, quality, and durable products. Today its wide product line includes belts, tensioners, pulleys and hydraulics equipment for the automotive, construction, trucking, ATV, agricultural, snowmobile, and industrial markets.
