Dash Designs® - Dorchester Velour™ Series Custom Seat Covers

I received the covers last Thursday for my new Ford Ranger. I did view the video on the website and had installed a set on my Ford-150 in the past so I know about the hooks, straps and tool used to join the straps. We have 3 small Aussie puppies and really needed covers for the rear seat protection. It was quite the project and I'm only 1/2 done, but the rear seats fit perfectly. The Ranger has 3 headrests, a center console and a seat release strap to access the tire jack. The seat covers are very well made and the fit is excellent. I will return to the review after the front covers are installed. I'm sure they will be done with just as much care. The installation took a bit of time and I had to review the "look" and "fit" to get the most of the install.

I bought these from CARID. Good cover, but there is no center console and it doesnt come with one. Beware of this if you are wanting a completed look for the interior.

I have a 71 Impala 4-door pillarless. I bought these as the upholstery has a few tears in it. The car has the original upholstery - which means that that putting these on is fairly difficult. Two people were definitely needed. The issue is the original upholstery on the back portion of the seat actually goes down and around the bottom of the seat. It’s then under the metal springs by about 6 inches. To place the plastic install stick into the seat, it must be done blind and by feel while lying down on the back seat. Then, your helper must feel for the plastic piece between the seats, and then try to pull it out with her fingers only. I’m sure the rear will be easier, as you need to take the rear seat out to install. I’m very happy with the look, but the headrest cover could be a bit better fitting, and the front marked clearly on the inside of the cover. It’s kinda like putting a shower cap on the headrest. It’s a bit loose and has bulges of extra fabric. The “S” hooks are a nightmare to get closed tight enough to keep the elastic from coming out. I had a few hooks that I closed as tight as I could, yet, the elastic kept slipping through the tiny gap (if there’s even 1 mm gap, the elastic slips through). When trying to put the “S” hooks on the seat springs - it’s quite challenging doing it blind by feel only. Really the only way to do it. I’m sure if the original upholstery was not on the seats, it would be much easier to install.

These covers fit extremely well and are very soft. I love them. They really brighten up my car's interior.
