Universal Hitch-Mounted Skid Shield for 2" Receivers by CURT®. Fits any 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver tube opening. Finish: Gloss Black. CURT front mount accessories are a unique line of towing accessories that maximize the usefulness of your tow vehicle and give you that added edge on and especially off the road. A CURT front mount trailer hitch is the first step in making your vehicle the ultimate towing machine, and with it comes a variety of towing possibilities you might not even know exist. The CURT skid shield is designed to mount onto your front-mounted trailer hitch and protect the receiver and the underside of your vehicle against rock and obstacle damage. The skid shield is especially useful for off-roading to protect the engine and other systems located near the front end of your vehicle. It is made from solid steel and is coated in a durable gloss black powder coat finish to resist rust and scratches.

CURT front mount trailer hitches are used for attaching a winch, snow plow or various hitch-mounted accessories and can even be used for some towing applications. When space is limited, you can use a front hitch to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. Placed in the front of the vehicle, the hitch provides a useful receiver tube to accept a 2" x 2" shank. CURT front mount hitches are constructed from robotically welded steel and put through rigorous testing to ensure reliable, trouble-free performance. Plus, they are co-cured with a liquid Bonderite® coating and a high-gloss black powder coat for rust, chip and UV resistance.

Smooth Install

Prefect fit, did it by myself with a floor jack took about an hour. Just needed to file the edge of the bolt head to fit into the oblong frame opening.

Great Hitch - Def Recommend

I purchased this for my 2001 Chevy silverado. I was able to install alongside my grille guard without any issues. Instructions were easy to follow and bolting this down was tedious but with power tools and a warm environment, can be done quickly. I however, did this in the cold with a ratchet, took about 45 minute’s because I was working around my guard. Fitment was perfect and have had no issues thus far. Been installed since December and all the bolts are still secure. I’ve used the hitch so far to do minor moves with small trailers and with a hitch winch. Def recommend if you’re looking to add a front hitch to your vehicle. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Product looks great (same as all Curt products). Installation instructions were accurate and easy to follow. I would recommend this product if you want a front 2 inch hitch for your HR. I have not used it yet but have no reservations about the Curt quality (lifetime warranty).
