Universal Soft-Trac II Breakaway System by CURT®. For any and all types of trailers with electric trailer brakes, a CURT breakaway kit provides you with the equipment you need to be prepared. CURT offers three different complete breakaway systems to accommodate various trailer sizes and meet your specific towing needs. All of CURT breakaway kits are tested for your safety and meet DOT requirements for holding and breakaway situations. The CURT breakaway system comes with a 12-volt, 5-amp battery and a nylon breakaway switch for reliable activation.

Includes a built-in charger to refuel the breakaway battery
The 12-volt battery can be recharged using the included breakaway charger to get ready for your adventure. It will fully charge the battery without overwhelming it.
LED lights indicate a good charge, battery charging, or low battery
The built-in push-to-test battery case with LED lights will indicate the status of the breakaway system's battery so you’ll easily know whether or not it’s fully charged for towing.
Activates electric trailer brakes in the event of a breakaway
This CURT breakaway kit includes a breakaway switch that will activate your trailer’s electric brakes in the event that your trailer becomes disconnected from the tow vehicle.
Cable lanyard connects the tow vehicle to the trailer breakaway battery
This CURT breakaway kit comes with a cable lanyard to create a secure connection between your tow vehicle and the trailer breakaway switch.
Use this connector to attach your brake controller to the vehicle’s brake wiring harness under the dash. Mount the brake controller under the dash. Connect the four wires to the brake controller: one for power, one for ground, one for the brake signal from the vehicle, and one for the output of the controller to the trailer with butt crimp connectors (not included) Plug the harness into the vehicle harness under the left-hand dashboard, and your trailer brake controller is connected. The battery is designed to be rechargeable for long-term use, and the breakaway switch comes lanyard to fit most vehicle-trailer combinations.
