Product Details

Door Panel Inserts by Coverlay®. CARiD boasts a rich collection of Coverlay dash boards covers that are highly durable and fit your dash board perfectly.

What is the very first thing we see when we open the vehicle door? You're right – those are door panels. Being clearly visible to the driver and passengers, they should always look great. Unfortunately, that is not an easy task. Mostly due to our muddy shoes scraping against the door panels while we're trying to climb in or out of the vehicle, the panels may need to be replaced over time. Coverlay comes to the rescue with plenty of awesome-looking replacement door panels that will breathe new life into your tacky old interior in minutes.

Manufactured of thick, heavy-duty plastic that expands and contracts with temperature fluctuations, the door panels will withstand the freezing nights of late January and the scorching heat of midsummer. Unlike universal parts, these are vacuum molded to give the cabin a finished look and ensure a perfect fit. All subtle curves are taken into account while designing these top-notch upgrades. The appearance is also of the prime importance since the part is clearly visible to the naked eye. That's why Coverlay offers a wide variety of color options, trying to meet your needs and ensure a perfect match to your vehicle's style.

When it comes to the installation, there is no need to get a headache over it because the Coverlay door panels do not require drilling or cutting. No special tools or skills are necessary either. Simply remove all the fasteners and screws holding the old door panel and insert the new one where it belongs to. Fortunately, the Coverlay door panels require absolutely no modifications to your doors and they snap right in using factory style clips. In addition to all the pros mentioned above, the Coverlay door panels come with a limited lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defects.

Great Fit and Quality.
If you have an 05-09 Mustang with door panel fabric falling off look no further, this is a permanent fix for a great price. I watched no less than 30 YouTube videos on peoples idea's on how to repair these panels and I didn't see anything that impressed me until I found these. I did watch a couple guys install these and said the fit was ok and some said the glue wouldn't stick. Here is the key to these fitting perfect and sticking very well. You have to remove the loose vinyl but also the backing material that is stuck very well to the actual door panel. It's is a bit of work and I found a heat gun helped get this off but once that was removed an I was down the the plastic of the door panel these things almost snap in place. It will take some time and I can't stress enough to take the time and clean any of the old glue or fabric off. I used a razor blade and sand paper. The only way to get the perfect results I got is to remove the door panel and once you apply the glue and panel put weights on it to make sure it's laying flat everywhere and let dry for 24 hours. You will not be disappointed and the glue held very well. I will say you will need another tube of glue they really should give you two tubes with these. I purchased another tube before doing the second door and good thing I did cause I only got half glued before running out. I clean my panels pretty much spotless before putting these on and I still only had about 3 hours per panel. Good luck these are a great fix in my opinion.

Good Fit and Appearance; Needs More Adhesive
I have a 2008 Mustang Convertible and like most owners of this model of car, I grew tired of re-gluing the vinyl door panel back into place. I researched different options of new overlays, glues and came across the Coverlay product. I'm not a "car guy" and I don't usually do my own repairs. I'll self-rate my mechanical prowess with automobiles as a medium to low level. I researched and followed various written and video guidance from Coverlay as well as other private auto shops. I followed the guidance with no deviation. Results. First, the Coverlay insert for my 2008 Mustang seemed to fit perfectly prior to adding glue. Once glue was added (according to Coverlay instructions) the door seemed to fit in one place, but then the opposite side/end would pop out of place. The Coverlay instructions of using tape to secure the panel into place while the glue hardened, was not close to adequate. So, I sat there waiting on the glue to cure and gain enough strength to retain its grip. There are a few places that I need to touch up, but otherwise the fit is seeemless. Second, Coverlay provided one bottle/tube of adhesive to insert both panels (1 x driver side, 1 x passenger side). This was not nearly an adequate amount of glue. I highly recommend acquiring or being provided a second bottle/tube of adhesive. Having too much glue leaves you plenty to use where needed; every project is different. Having too little glue has you scrounging around the garage searching frantically for a quick alternative. Recommendation. I do recommend this product as a pretty good substitute for the vinly panel insert. It's been less than 24 hours since I installed it so I'll reserve my rating for "Great" after a few months and changes in weather/temperature. For now, I highly recommend providing a second tube of adhesive. It's a good product and I'm thankful for finding it online.

Fairly Happy
Cleans up the interior a ton! Only downside is the driver side doesn't cover the best, so if you are missing the cloth that super sweet brown junk sticks out like a sore thumb.

Nice, Fitment is a Little Off
Seem like nice quality. Inserts from my door panels do not fit. I believe they molded these over top of an original door panel so the fitment is a little off. seems like nice quality overall. Happy with my purchase.

Doesn't Match
I ordered the Dark Gray...quality is not great, screws were loose. The color of the fabric did not match the top piece from bottom piece, the bottom piece looked a lot lighter than picture and two toned.

POOR QUALITY
Whether it's classicindustries.com or usa1interiors.com they are all made out of very thin plastic. The price being charged is beyond astronomical. I can go to any wrecker and by both entire doors for less.

Could Be Worse, Could Be Better
I like the panels, good fit and good look but quality control seems to be absent. One of the armrests is not attached properly and I'm going to have to remove the panel to fix it. Not looking forward to that until I get more fasteners. After watching the installation video I assumed the panels attached with fasteners behind the panels but they attach thru the panel. That was disappointing. And then there's the fasteners. They leave a lot to be desired. The paint on all of them flaked off before and during installation leaving visible black fasteners and a couple of them also broke. Of course warranty doesn't cover them. I've tried contacting Coverlay to order some fasteners, but have yet to hear from them. I expected better but I'll work with it. Sure could use some new fasteners.

Door Panels and Dash Cover - Floor Liner
My husband and I have had our 93 Bronco since October of 92. We had work done on it to get it up and running. We ordered 2 door panels, dash cover, and later Cowboy mats for the front, back, and rear liner. The inside looks just like the day we purchased it in 92. This was a hard choice at the time but now thanks to a CARiD the process was so easy, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. The last thing will be a new paint job, but until then thanks to everyone at CARiD. Later we will send you a pictures of our beautiful (like new again) 93 Bronco. Thanks again from the Fite family.
