You use a car cover for good reason - to keep your vehicle protected from the constant onslaught of UV rays, weather, airborne pollutants, and falling debris from trees. While Covercraft covers are fitted to each make and model, they are designed with just the right amount of looseness for optimum moisture release underneath the cover. If you have to park your vehicle in open areas or other locations subject to high winds, then you know nothing is worse than having to chase down a car cover that has blown off the vehicle. Chance then dictates whether your cover may be unscathed, damaged and run over in the street, snagged in a neighbor’s tree, or laying in a mud puddle. Even if the cover doesn’t blow all the way off your vehicle, any part of it flapping loosely in the wind can damage your vehicle’s paint upon repeated contact. And then there is the increased level of tree sap and twigs that fall from trees during higher wind conditions. Sap is one of the most caustic elements to automotive paint, and twigs always find their way underneath the hood where they can clog ventilation cowls and drainage lines - causing water to back up inside your vehicle.

Covercraft’s Gust Guard kit keeps your cover properly snugged in place during high winds so it can fully protect your vehicle as it was designed to. It’s easy to use and takes minimal time to install on any car cover. Because you’ll need to run the front cord from side to side ahead of the front wheels and the rear one behind the rear wheels, first attach the clamps in those corresponding positions. Run both cords underneath the vehicle, then snug up the tension with the friction lock piece attached to each cord.
