From day one back in 1989, Cometic Gasket has been dedicated to providing the powersports industry with high-performance gaskets and engine sealing solutions. Back in the day, the company had operations in a small 1,500 sq. ft. facility and had only 900 SKUs in its catalog. Today it is a global supplier with over 85,000 products that serves not only the powersports and performance markets, but also marine, stationary power, snowmobile, diesel, and other industries. Cometic Gasket is still a family owned and operated business.
The company's manufacturing facility is located in Concord, Ohio. Cometic Gasket prides itself on building all of its products in the USA, from materials made in the United States as well. To provide the best-performing sealing solutions on the market, the company uses the latest in technology and materials, utilizing high-strength constructions (multi-layer steel in MLS gaskets) and synthetic compounds such as Aramid Fiber. Gasket designing and manufacturing takes place completely in-house, using engine assembly rooms and dynos to test reliability.
Cometic head gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength, corrosion resistance, and maximum sealing in modern-day high-power engines. Cometic exhaust gaskets are made from temperature-resistant materials such as Armor Clad to withstand extremes up to 2000F. The engineers at Cometic Gasket carefully analyze the conditions under which a gasket will be used and select materials and building techniques accordingly. The result is a gasket that is considered to be the standard in professional and amateur motorsports, a gasket that winning motorsports teams rely on.
