The Chrysler New Yorker has a rich history. This car's production began in 1939. The external design of the New Yorker in 1975 was borrowed from the Chrysler Newport. Based on the R-platform, the Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue appeared in 1979, it became a little shorter and lighter than the previous generation. In 1990, the new base model Chrysler New Yorker Salon was released. It was constructed on the M-platform and was almost a copy of the Dodge Dynasty with redesigned headlights and grille. The last Chrysler New Yorker model, based on the Chrysler LH platform, appeared in 1994. The Chrysler New Yorker was once a flagship of the company. In 1996, the car's production was stopped. It was replaced by the Chrysler LHS.
