Product Details

Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors by Chrome Brakes®. Sold In Pairs. This is a set of OEM-sized replacement rotors with slots and drilled holes that provide the superior level of cooling needed for high performance street driving, trailer towing, 4x4 use, even drifting. High-graphite G3000 grade iron provides superior operation from reduced temperatures and quieter application. Patented chromium layer adds style and provide a higher level of resistance to corrosion and temperature buildup than zinc or paints. The chromium layer is designed to disappear in the area that the brake pads contact the rotor.

Features

  • Sized to match OEM dimensions while providing superior braking performance and better looks
  • Produced from the highest quality G3000 grade of "gray" iron with graphite microstructure
  • Rotors have high thermal conductivity and are extremely resistant to temperature buildup
  • Lower operating temperatures reduce rotor warp, fluid boiling, and hot spotting
  • Rotors are slotted and drilled for better venting of heat, water, brake dust, and gasses
  • Rotors are machined to a fine, consistent weight balance to provide the smoothest brake applications
  • Pyrolytic Chromium Carbide (PCC) color coatings provide a higher level of resistance to corrosion and temperature buildup on non-contact areas than zinc or paints
  • 1 year / 36,000 mile manufacturer warranty is effective until rotors reach minimum thickness due to normal wear

Benefits:

  • Slots and drilled holes provide dust and water dissipation
  • Slots help to increase pad bite and improve air circulation
  • Cross-drilled holes provide increased cooling
  • Reduce stopping distances in wet weather

Drilled and Slotted Rotors are designed for the customer who wants colorful style and enhanced braking power for their performance vehicle. As beautiful as they may be to the eye, every material and design aspect of Chrome Brakes® rotors is created to keep overall temperature of brake components down, and overall stopping performance up - even in hard use street conditions. Contact surfaces are slotted and drilled for best venting of heat, water, brake dust, and gasses. Centers are ventilated for air pass-through. Plus, the iron used to form the rotors is cast with a high graphite content that takes longer to heat up - minimizing the chance of rotors warping over time. Brake fluid doesn’t boil and create pedal fade, so grip remains even and strong. And, your vehicle will glide to a civilized stop because Chrome Brakes® rotors are machined to a fine, consistent weight balance to provide the smoothest brake applications.

Chrome Brakes® rotors will stay looking good for a long time thanks to a pyrolytic chromium carbide protection layer. Not only does this PCC application give the rotors their dazzling color, this patented coating bonds to the metal to provide a level of corrosion resistance that paint and zinc cannot match. Plus, it actually aids in the resistance to heat buildup that gives you superior braking and longer rotor life. Chrome Brakes® rotors are available in a range of colors to meet your needs, and we invite you to contact our knowledgeable specialists seven days a week for help with any questions. Chrome Brakes® proudly manufactures all brake rotors in the United States, and backs them against failure due to manufacturing defects for 1 year or 36,000 miles.

Located in Greenville, South Carolina, Chrome Brakes® began with the goal of bringing the benefits of superior brake components at a reasonable cost to performance enthusiasts everywhere. Company engineers believed then, as they do today, that better brakes make driving more enjoyable and safer for any vehicle. As a result, they developed a philosophy that superior brake components cannot be superior without advanced materials that match the exact tolerances of each and every individual vehicle they are created for. Relentless development and testing led to brake pads, rotors, and other related components that deliver uncompromising fit and operation, and Chrome Brakes’ customer base has expanded due to fierce loyalty. So when you want superior brake pads and rotors for high performance driving that exceed OEM specification without the excessive cost, Chrome Brakes® has the products you need - backed by the best warranty in the business.

Bought these for my Silverado. I love the way they look behind the rims. Get a lot of complements on them.

They Put Plastic on Them - Takes Hours to Remove with Sandpaper
Chrome Brakes® CBX1.1109.1618B - Drilled and Slotted 1-Piece Front Brake Rotors
Failure to completely remove the plastic coating - break failure.

See Patrick's review below. Everything he wrote has been confirmed by my purchase. This item should not be advertised as one that you can just install and go. After installing all 4 of these rotors as well as new brake pads, the break in process was very sketchy due to the build up of that coating on the brake pads. All in all a rotor is a rotor.. nothing special, advertising should always be accurate on products though.

This review is for Chrome Brake rotors. This review is for the Pyrolytic Chromium Carbide (PCC) coating on the rotors and confusing advertising description of removal of said PCC coating. Online (CarId.com) description of rotors states that the PCC coating does not need to be removed. However, an application sticker and directions on the rotor box from Chrome Brake states that the coating must be removed on the contact portion of the rotor prior to installation by sanding off the PCC coating. The rotors are coated on one side only. The rotors (4) that I received were spotty and lightly coated in some areas and metal could be seen, causing a visual blemish, which is not easily fixed. The coating itself is poor craftsmanship and application. The rotors themselves are as stated both in construction and fitment. Final review: Sketchy coating.

Awesome
Looks great on car. A bit noisy till you wear off the gold paint where the brake pads touch. But once off - no noise and stops great.

Product looked saturated with coating but I like the purpose of said coating. The coating in question seems to melt off from braking and drip off the edge of rotor causing build up. This coating also is rubbery and filled the drilled holes and slots on the rotor. I have to remove the wheels and clean my calipers and wheels from this crud.

Like the color choices, hope the coating does indeed prevent/reduce the corrosion that happens especially where road ice melt chemicals are used. Hard to honestly make accurate quality statement at this time of such products because time will only tell well item/material stands up under time/wear & tear, hope they are of good quality. Somehow make it less difficult in removing the coating in the areas of where the brake pads will rub that you state important/necessary to remove for proper break-in and performance.

Product misrepresented. Product appears to have been painted with high gloss high temp paint. I spent over an hour sanding off paint where brake pads contact rotor. I could have masked off rotor and painted my self a raw rotor for much less in price. Very dissatisfied with end result. Overpriced and very overrated. Don't waste your money.

Overall the brakes work perfect and stay a little cooler which is very important when your service van has a ton of weight in materials and tools. They still perform great even on the long declines when you can't remove the foot from the brakes even at a lower gear.
