The Chevrolet S-10 Blazer was a compact two- or four-door SUV released in 1982 and manufactured from 1983 up to 1994. The design of the vehicle took after the first-generation K-5 Blazer. Its wheelbase was 2,553 mm long. The power was generated by a 2.0 L OHV I4 engine that had an output of only 83 hp. A 2.8 L V6 engine producing 110 hp was optional. Because of emission standards set by the EPA, a 1.9 L I4 gas engine was used as standard instead of a 2.0 L I4 one in California. A 2.2 L I4 diesel engine generating 58 hp was available as an option. After 1985, all those engines were replaced by a heavier 2.5 L I4 engine, while a 2.8 L V6 became available as an option. In 1988, the Chevy S-10 Blazer was powered by a 4.3 L V6 engine. In 1991, a 4-door SUV with a longer 2,718 mm wheelbase was released.
