The Chevrolet Metro was a subcompact car produced by GM from 1989 through 2001. Ultimately, the Chevy Metro was a successor of the Chevrolet Sprint and Chevrolet Sprint/Sprint Metro. All cars were built in Canada, and only convertibles were manufactured in Japan. The Metro Hatchback Coupe was available throughout the whole Chevy Metro lifespan. The Chevy Metro Hatchback Sedan was offered from 1989 through 1994, the Metro Convertible appeared in 1991 and lasted up to 1993, and the Metro four-door sedan emerged in 1995 and remained in production until 2001. There were three trims offered: base trim equipped with a 1.3 L I4 engine, XFI powered by a 1.0 L I3, and LSI that used also a 1.3 L I4 engine, but a more humming one.
