Chevy HHR Chrome Trim

2007 HHR. While the upper rear fender strips were quite easy to install, the adjoining trim strips covering the bottom of the rear doors were a mess. The "clips" riveted in place to fasten the trim to the door were attached at nearly a 90° angle, meaning they all had to be modified (bent... somehow, without scratching the polished surface) significantly just to close the door. As purchased, the rear door could not be closed with trim attached without pushing the trim strips off of the door. The provided 3M tape strips would not hold the trim in place with the door closed because the clips pushed the trim away from the door. That section of trim was either poorly designed, or poorly executed in manufacturing. Was able to modify passenger side adequately to stay in place, had to remove that section from drivers side to prevent it from falling off while driving. The trim that I was able to install looks great, far too much hassle to install. When I saw the design of the clips, i should have never attempted the install of that section.
