From its birth back in 1953 up until the present day, the Chevrolet Corvette has been among the fastest cars that one can legally drive on the road. One of the key ingredients making this car special is its underpinnings, whose design is pretty sophisticated and advanced. Located in the rear, the drive axles of the Corvette are parts of an independent suspension. Enormously strong if compared to the drive shafts of mainstream cars, the Corvette’s half axles were coupled with universal joints until the launch of the C5 generation in 1997.
Like in cases with the axles of most other high-horsepower automobiles, problems with the driveline working under very hard conditions and high torque are spread among the Corvettes. A leaking differential, worn-out bearings, or even the shafts deformed by overloading – that’s what an average Corvette owner may face. And, yet again, as well as with other upscale cars, the replacements allowing to get the issues addressed are very expensive. Use our Chevy Corvette axle assemblies & components to make the restoration a bit less costly without compromising on quality.
