Mechanical Fuel Pump by Carter®. This mechanical fuel pump provides OE fit and reliability, is built in a TS16949 quality certified plant, and factory tested to assure it measures up to the most rigid standards and delivers optimum performance. Each pump features a stamped steel chamber that incorporates a larger diaphragm for higher capacity and better vapor handling.
Installation
Mechanical fuel pumps are generally 'puller' type pumps with a good suction ability, and are intended for use in vehicles which do not require high fuel pressure. The main operating component of this pump type is a diaphragm that is pushed up and down to move the fuel. This mechanical fuel pump by Carter has a stamped steel valve chamber with larger diameter diaphragm for high capacity and excellent vapor handling characteristics. This innovative design was used as original equipment by domestic vehicle manufacturers.
With in-depth OE experience, Carter builds its fuel pumps with adherence to original form, fit, and function in a TS 16949 certified plant – the absolute latest in OE quality certification. Each pump is subjected to stringent testing throughout the manufacturing process. This quality assurance process includes pumping action, flow, pressure tests, computer checks, and other procedures performed to make sure the pump is ready to deliver reliable service. A mounting gasket is included, where required. Carter fuel pumps are warranted against defects in material and workmanship, under proper use and service, for 1 year or 12,000 miles.
