First introduced in 1916, the glorious nameplate Brougham was used several times to indicate different Cadillac models or trims. In 1977 the Brougham was a special trim of the Cadillac Fleetwood, actually being the most luxurious car in the American brand’s lineup, also very popular among limousine coachbuilders. When in 1985 the Cadillac Fleetwood was updated, receiving a new front-wheel drive platform, the Brougham became a separate model, still based on the previous platform and featuring a rear-wheel drive layout. In 1990 the Cadillac Brougham received a facelift, introducing a wrap-around front bumper, composite headlights, newly designed tail lights, and rocker panel covering. In 1992 the production of the Brougham was eventually discontinued.
