BMW 3-Series Light Relays, Sensors, Control Modules

The most elementary light circuit consists of a power source, bulb, and switch, but modern vehicles are equipped with much more complicated systems – their lighting circuits also include sensors, relays, and control modules. Thus, sensors make automatic adjustment and operation possible. In turn, relays allow a low-current circuit to control a high-current one. And, finally, control modules are responsible for controlling those light circuits which require something more than ordinary turning on and off. If any of these components malfunction, you won’t be able to use your automobile’s lighting as efficiently as always. And various problems with the electronics are not uncommon for the BMW 3-Series, as this model is equipped with numerous electronic devices and control modules.

There are plenty of reasons which may cause your BMW 3-Series light relays, sensors, and control modules to fail: lack of power at their connectors, simple wear and tear, short circuits, and so on. Don't forget to check fuses before any repair. Driving without properly working lights is unsafe and inconvenient (especially in the nighttime or in bad weather conditions), but replacement of malfunctioning components will solve the problem and bring the lighting of your automobile under your control again.
