Product Details

OnStar Retention Interface by Axxess®. If your vehicle has OnStar, you can still install an aftermarket stereo and retain OnStar's safety and convenience functionality by using an Axxess OnStar retention Interface.

This interface is designed to allow the user to replace the OEM radio with an aftermarket unit in amplified or non-amplified GM vehicles and retain full functionality of the OnStar system as well as all safety and warning chimes. This interface has the capability of adjusting chime and OnStar volumes as well. The Interface may also retain the retained accessory power convenience features. Some Axxess interfaces may also have the required outputs for the installation of a navigation radio.

Excellent Service
The product does what it is suppose to. I was nervous ordering from this company because I had never heard of it and the price was 40% less than everyone else. I chatted with a representative and decided to give it a try. Feedback and order status was spot on. Delivery was expeditious. We are now enjoying our newly installed radio very much.

OnStar Retention Unit
Everything works exactly as it should! It retains my OnStar and warning chimes. It fits perfect on my vehicle and there was no trouble with installation in spite of the fact that I am not electrician.

Works Flawlessly
For older Fords without a backup camera this module certainly does the trick. I had looked into many stereos and screens to use as a backup monitor to use with an aftermarket backup camera on the 2013 Ford Focus, but I was one of the few who actually liked the Sync interface and felt the OEM screen to be adequate to show a camera feed. Along with the Ford wiring harness and a camera (I found one elsewhere that integrated into the trunk release handle) this intuitively shows your backup camera when in reverse on the stereo screen and leaves everything else really stock. It also has 3 other inputs if you have other cameras or devices you'd like to display on your OEM screen, but I sold the car before I got around to playing with those.
