Features

The core is a large bar-and-plate design with densely packed, staggered and louvered fins. The design offers exceptional cooling while balancing pressure loss across the core and maintaining critical airflow to the parts behind the intercooler. The result is reliable performance in the toughest situations!

To fully utilize the massive core, APR cast aluminum end tanks are organically shaped for proper airflow distribution across the entire core. One-piece end tanks are CNC machined to provide a slip-resistant mounting surface for hoses and perfectly flat connecting surfaces for TIG welding the tanks to the core.

APR mechanical engineers designed CNC-bent and TIG-welded mounting brackets to securely hold the intercooler in place. The brackets make the install extremely easy. With the bumper and factory intercooler unit removed, the APR intercooler installs in minutes without any cutting, drilling or trimming.

APR's engineers have expertly recalibrated the engine management system to allow for a broad torque curve which results in a smooth linear pull throughout the power band. Keeping the track enthusiast in mind, this conversion package will not result in overpowering of the driveline but will allow for smooth acceleration to easily maintain control while cornering. The Borg Warner K04 turbocharger selected by VAG engineers perfectly matches to allow for stout horsepower numbers as the RPMs increase with no dramatic fall off as redline approaches. This ensures plenty of power in the high RPMs for continued acceleration in the straights and positioning at the healthiest portion of the power band after corner exit.
