APG® - Billet Grille

This grill is a bolt on piece over your existing grill. You take the factory ascetic pieces off, the face of the grill you see, and it clamps on to the grill shroud. Pros: Easy to install, provides much more rigidity to the plastic grill, gives a decent aftermarket look to the OEM front end in which full grill aftermarket replacements don’t exist yet (at least I didn’t find them). Cons: Can still see the shroud pretty easily behind the billet grill (all the horizontal and vertical plastic. The screws they give for their clamping system are like 3 inches long. You will need to cut them down after you tighten them to avoid interference with the Active Grill Shutter (AGS). They do not provide an option for trucks with or without the front mounted camera. I don’t have a camera, but have a grill that was cut to fit it with one, so I have a hole in the middle of my grill. Overall not bad, wish there were better options. But for the price I was relatively pleased.

Item arrived on time. Installation instructions provided in the package. Could have been lighter in tone. Pictures were kind of difficult to see orientation of the brackets. Worked around it and continued with the install. Overall it looks good and reasonably priced.

Finally found a grill to fit my truck. Install was a bit tricky. Had to get creative with a magnet to hold the back pieces in place while starting the thread of the screw. Couldn’t get 2 of the screws installed on the upper piece due to lack of space for the back bracket. Kind of a funky design, but all in all took me about 30 minutes to install the 3 pieces. When purchasing, make sure to select the lower number piece. Would need to remove the licenses plate to install. Wish the was something available for the hood vent. No options available, yet.

Put this on my 2001 Ford Ranger Edge non XLT. It looks so sweet with new headlights! Four stars because it doesn't quite fit without a lot of work. The instructions were garbage, perhaps this is not an "open top" whatever that means. My Ranger has 3 plastic covers that cover the top of this and one each for the headlights. Took about 3 hours, since I had to relocate it once (lower). Job will go much faster without the headlights in place, since you'll be taking the old grill cover off a few times to get it fitted. The grill housing had it's old grill tabs cutoff so the new grill will sit flat against it. If not, there will be a gap between the new grill and the grill housing. The radiator shroud, soft plastic, is easy to cut with a box cutter for the top flanges of the new grill to lay in. The two lower flanges will need to be offset by about 1/2" to 5/8", somewhere in between. You can see the standoffs in the picture. The top four flanges of the new grill had to narrowed to fit into the slot, but only enough to be tight. You cannot bolt the top in, it just sits there, but not sloppy. I would give this a 5 star, but this is a lot of work, again, probably not made for this vehicle. The material is stainless steel, which is a better bang for the buck than aluminum. Was worth it for me!

Does not fit correctly and new holes have to be drilled into your bumper. Finish is satin and doesn't flow with a car that is gloss finish. It's sitting in my garage and won't be going on my crossfire.

Looks very nice, very aggressive look with the 2pc grille.

This grill came and the fitment is amazing! I had to drill two holes for the hood release. But they included all hardware and instructions. Took about 30 minutes and looks great on my old truck.

Spent a while trying to install it. Instructions are super hard to understand because the pics are so small. Hardware it comes with doesn't function properly. My hood wouldn't close when I was done. I don't know if can return it, but I'm going to try. Biggest waste of time and money.

The hardware it comes with is useless, be prepared to buy smaller toggle bolts and screws. Other than that it looks great, really nice inexpensive upgrade.
