Product Details

HD Mufflers Shields by AP Exhaust®. Today’s exhaust performance market continues to cover a broad spectrum of vehicles. The unique nature of this market is that a product demand is not based on vehicle age or use but instead on an owner’s desire for power and sound.

School buses also require constant maintenance and AP has the product line you need for the local school bus district fleet, individually owned and operated buses. Specially designed muffler, exhaust pipes and accessories are available through AP to complete almost any job in the fleet garage.

AP’s Research and Development department is continuously reviewing and providing the additional products that are needed for today’s needs and the 2007 and up vehicle-engine combinations that carry emission equipment that must meet the increasingly stringent US EPA and California ARB exhaust gas and particulate controls.

AP 40006
Just had the new AP muffler installed. Looks identical to the old muffler. Definitely sounds better. Seems a little loud. Not too bad. Would have liked it to be a little quieter. The old muffler was in bad shape and leaking and very loud. Good budget muffler for a little over $100.00 with shipping. Don’t know how long it will last, hopefully at least a few years.

I Wasn't Expecting all That !!!!
I pulled them out of the box and they looked just like a flowmaster to me . I have a stock 87 mustang lx 5.0 with stock exhaust up until today .. the mufflers were junk .. so i put these mufflers on with new lx tailpipes and i cant tell their any louder than the factory mufflers . Not at all what i was expecting but its exactly what i wanted .. btw the car does have the factory headers and all 4 converters on it . Im trying to keep it as oem as i can afford !!!!!

Excellent Muffler Option
Bought this muffler as well as the passenger side one for my 2012 Nissan Altima and it came out great.

Excellent Performance Muffler
I went to my local exhaust shop and asked them to suggest a muffler for my G35 coupe that would deepen and louden the tone without being obnoxiously loud. He told me about AP Exhaust and how they acquired the patents to all of the Flowmaster Super 40 Series of Mufflers and now sell them under their own brand. So he ended up suggesting the AP Exhaust equivalent of the Super 44. I was skeptical honestly since I had not heard of AP Exhaust and it was a really low cost muffler. To my surprise it sounds amazing! It most definitely sounds like a Flowmaster 40 series, nice and deep and moderately loud. I would definitely recommend AP Exhaust to anyone looking for something along the lines of a Flowmaster/Magnaflow/Borla kind of sound for half the price.

Too Loud.
Told the guy at the muffler place I wouldn't mind a deep sound, but I didn't want loud. He apparently only heard the first half of my request. These things are way too loud. I can't hear my radio when going over 30 mph. I've got to find something quieter to replace these things. I don't want to be "that guy" in my neighborhood who everybody curses when I come & go. Dual exhaust (H-pipe) '66 mustang, with 302 engine.

Swapped Out the "Square Box Muffler" with This Muffler.
We had to do a 'little' modification before the 'inlet' side of this muffler (since I didn't buy the complete AP exhaust) for the 2007 Chrysler Town and County. I am very satisfied with the results. Before you buy, read the specifications of this muffler, and use a micrometer/tape measure to check your currently installed exhaust, to make sure the parts you buy will fit the application. J.
