Product Details

MXP Series SynthaFlow™ Cold Air Dam Intake System by AIRAID®. The MXP Series air intake system positions a large 360º AIRAID air filter with a huge air inlet in the stock location, but encloses it in a roto-molded polyethylene airbox that seals against the hood, forming an enclosure. The airbox features massive air inlets that are positioned to allow only the coolest outside air inside the box. This enables the air filter to channel large quantities of cool, dense air to the engine, resulting in more horsepower and torque, and improved performance.

Increased airflow to your engine will increase horsepower and torque, but if that air is cooler and denser your engine will make even more power! Cooler, denser air contains more oxygen, and more oxygen in your engine's air intake charge means better combustion, resulting in greater engine output.

The MXP Series takes the Cold Air Dam Intake System to the next level. The molded polyethylene MXP airbox seals against the hood and forms a complete enclosure for the SynthaFlow or SynthaMax air filter. The airbox air inlets are located to allow only the coolest outside air into the airbox. This results in massive quantities of only the coolest air reaching your engine.

The SynthaFlow air filter is a cotton-gauze and synthetic blend that outperforms plain cotton-gauze in clean air testing. The SynthaFlow features "five layer" filtration, with 4 layers of cotton-gauze supplemented by "the last layer of defense", a layer of synthetic media that produces the cleanest air of any washable filter. The filtering media is held together by epoxy coated aluminum wire mesh, specially designed to provide the optimum balance between maximum airflow and peak filtration.

The SynthaMax filter is 100% synthetic, with an inner filter media consisting of two distinct layers of specifically designed synthetic materials that have separate performance characteristics. These layers are designed to work together to provide outstanding airflow and exceptionally high filtration. Contaminants are first captured by the outer layer of synthetic needle felt polyester material, designed for wet and dry filtration with high airflow capacity. The inner layer of rayon/polyester captures any remaining contaminants while maintaining high airflow and low restriction. The inner filter media is supported by an inner and outer layer of wire mesh for strength and durability.

Each filter is over 99% efficient, meaning it allows more airflow while filtering out dirt particles ordinary filters let pass. You get better performance without sacrificing air filtration.

Some intake systems also include a roto-molded polyethylene intake tube, which further aids airflow to the engine. This tube is less affected by engine heat than steel or aluminum tubing.

The MXP Series Cold Air Dam Intake System comes complete with everything necessary for installation, including comprehensive instructions. And it's backed by AIRAID's "No Hassle" warranty. There are no limitations or fine print here. Simply, if you're ever dissatisfied with the materials, workmanship, or performance of this air intake system, just send it back... period! You don't have to worry about a proof of purchase or a warranty card. AIRAID air intake systems are warranted for life.

Horrible Quality
Manufacture forgot to pre-drill holes for air dam to secure to intake box. Temperature sensor will not fit in pre drilled hole. Machine cuts on air dam look cheap. Metal cover does not fully secure on intake box.

It Improves Throttle Response & Fuel Mileage
I bought this cold air intake system for my 5.0 F-150 Platinum about 2 yrs ago. My 2 yr pre-installation overall MPG was 15.1. My 2 yr post installation MPG is 15.6. I'm told I have a lead foot & my truck has a leveling kit. I also have a Borla cat back dual exhaust. The throttle response is notably better. The filter is also very easy to clean. I was able to install it by myself, but would recommend an extra set of hands to make the process easier & faster.

Huge Intake.
I drive a 2018 Chrysler 300s with the 3.6. This intake is the same size for all Mopar engines from my 3.6L V6 to 6.4L Hemi (same filter, different fittings), which is insane. It looks fantastic under the hood and gave my tiny V6 a bit more power, but plenty of presence. The only negative is the sound. I did step down from a 2007 5.7 hemi with a K&N intake, so maybe the bar for crazy induction sound was set way too high, but I was a little disappointed with low "wwohmpf" when I expected a more audible whistle. But that's a minor complaint, and not much of a complaint at all. The power increase is there and it really makes the engine bay look better. Overall great intake.

Nice
Looks great under the hood. Turns the wimpy stock look into a more aggressive in your face appearance.

Good
The Air Intake arrived on time, it did not take me long at all to get it installed, follow the directions and you'll be fine, I noticed little performance gain although I do like the sound. To get the max performance and best sound gain I do recommend taking the stock fresh air scoop out, you do not need to take the front bumper off you can simply just take the top bolts off the bumper and have someone pull it back so that you can unscrew the two bolts holding it on and then pull it out.

I haven't installed it yet on my 2013 Camaro. But hoping for performance enhancement.

Airaid Cold Air Induction
This product is well engineered, with all the parts needed present along with comprehensive instructions. The intake system produced a noticeable increase in torque that can be felt in the engine pulling harder on acceleration and hill climbing. I have yet to put it to the trailer pulling test, which will come the middle of July after having a set of "shorty" headers installed, for yet more low end torque. The key word for this is "noticeable" increase in power and torque - not dramatic. I do feel that this intake is high quality and does give me what I had hoped for. I do not think a person could go wrong with this intake system.

Easy Bolt-On Performance
I replaced another aftermarket intake system with this one. My Jeep sounds better, and I have noticed marked increase in fuel economy on average (20.5MPG up from 17.2MPG) when I drive nicely. Naturally, if your foot gets heavy, you won't see mileage increases with this installation. Installation took me about 25 minutes. It's very cut-and-dry, with few tools required. Annoying is that the tools that are required are hex keys. Not a big deal, but some people won't have them lying around.
