Full Metal Power Stage 2 Air Intake System by aFe®. When you want a performance improvement and an upgrade in the appearance of your engine bay, get the Full Metal Power Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System. It replaces your entire factory air intake system with a massive high-flow aFe air filter, heat shield and a large diameter, smoothly contoured, polished or anodized aluminum intake tube. This system enables your engine to take in huge quantities of dense, cool, oxygen laden air. The result is better combustion, increased horsepower and torque, and a noticeable gain in performance.
When it comes to feeding air to a big bore gas or diesel engine, aFe knows that size matters. That's why the Full Metal Power Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System includes the largest air filter possible coupled to a large diameter, mandrel bent aluminum intake tube. And because they know you want style with performance, the intake tube comes anodized or highly polished, depending on application, to really stand out in your engine bay.
The increased airflow starts with a huge aFe Pro DRY S air filter. The Pro DRY S filter combines high airflow and filtration efficiency with the convenience of oil-free maintenance. It contains 3 layers of randomly porous synthetic fabric, which allows approximately twice the airflow when compared to a typical stock air filter. The increased airflow results in more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and more miles per gallon. But this improved airflow and performance hasn't been gained at the expense of engine protection. The Pro DRY S has an excellent 99.2% filtration efficiency rating. The pleats in the filter are evenly spaced for greater dust holding capacity and the tips are rounded for better airflow. They're also 30% deeper than comparable aftermarket air filters for longer service intervals and greater dust holding capacity. The sealing surface and supporting structures are made from 100% polyurethane, to withstand extreme engine temperatures.
Airflow is then funneled through a large diameter, mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube into the throttle body or turbocharger. All connections are made with quality urethane couplers and hardware that is supplied with the kit. A powder coated heat shield at the filter, helps block engine heat, enabling the filter to take in cooler air. The increased flow of cooler air to your engine will result in noticeable gains in power and performance. Cooler, denser air contains more oxygen, and more oxygen in your engine's air intake charge means better combustion, resulting in greater engine output.
