Product Details

Unique DryFlow Air Filter by AEM Intakes®. AEM Intakes DryFlow Air Filters are washable synthetic air filters designed for an optimum combination of air flow, filtration, and performance. AEM Intakes DryFlow filters use an innovative high performance oil-free filtration material that allows easy cleaning, durable service, and excellent filtration.

AEM's DryFlow air filter offers the best of all possible worlds, increased airflow to the engine, optimal filtration for long engine life and easy maintenance. First let's talk about airflow. Every DryFlow filter is designed to exceed the engine's airflow requirements; not by just a little but by a wide margin. This allows you to make engine modifications that increase engine airflow without having to worry about exceeding the filter's airflow capacity. And the DryFlow filter performs under real world conditions. It flows almost as well when it's dirty as it does when it's clean, and its unique non-woven filter media is designed to actually shed dirt under engine vibration, unlike cotton-gauze filters that retain dirt. But don't think that filtration ability has been sacrificed for airflow. The AEM Intakes DryFlow filter captures up to 99% of contaminants, extending the life of engine rings and seals. Finally, the DryFlow filter is a breeze to clean. Simply knocking the filter a few times will remove excess dirt from the filter pleats, and the actual cleaning process is simple. Most importantly, the DryFlow filter requires no oiling, taking the guesswork out of servicing.

The AEM Intakes DryFlow filter is constructed of a unique non-woven polyester-based filter media supported by aluminum screen wire for rigid structural strength. This filter media doesn't require oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and actually sheds dirt under engine vibration, unlike cotton-gauze, which holds onto contaminants until you clean the filter. When it's time to clean, simply tapping the filter a few times will remove most of the dirt from the filter pleats. Then spray the filter with AEM's environmentally friendly, mild, all-purpose cleaner. Rinse the filter with clean water and allow to dry, or blow dry with compressed air. Best of all, the DryFlow filter requires no oiling, so there's never a chance of over-oiling. The DryFlow filter is extremely durable and will withstand almost unlimited cleanings.

The Dryflow
Much better than oiled filter elements. I've run one K&N on one of the jeeps. The fine silt and oil in the intake runner were unacceptable. I do not see that with the high flow DRY element, and it seems to be moving plenty of air to my turbo.

Helped
Increased throttle response a little, but dyno says it added a few HP, nothing crazy but still noticeable. Would recommend. Installed on a Durango Rt.

No Dyno Results or Anything Like That
I bought it cause I don't have to buy another throw away filter. And no oil kit to clean it.

Filter
This filter filters the air. Easy to install. I might be getting better mileage, it is maybe a 1 mpg. Nice that will not have to buy a new filter again.

2012 Subaru Legacy 3.6R
Installed the dry flow filter about 500 miles ago, no notable improvements in mpg's or torque. Air filter took 30 minutes to install but thats due to manufacture's set up of OEM air filter box. Overall its well worth the investment. Cheaper than replacing cotton filters every year and much better quality. $60 for filter and cleaner versus $10/year for OEM replacements. If you are planning on keeping your car for more than 6 years this product is worth its weight in gold. No added performance just a economical decision in the end.

I Like Dry
This is a great alternative to an oiled filter. An oiled filter can sometime cause problems with mass air flow sensors. And is the advantage to using dry direct fit performance filters.
