AEM Intakes® - Short Ram Air Intake System

I got this on sale for $100 during holidays season in 2019 and I have to say, this was an absolute steal. I immediately felt a better response in the throttle and car felt lighter per se. I live in California so I had to get a CARB approved system. For the year I had this, I have zero complaints. The aluminum tube is coated fantastically and it looks amazing. Only issue I had was the AEM sticker was placed too far on the interior side of the tube so when the engine cover goes on, the AEM sticker is not easily visible, but I assume that was a simply human error at the end of production. Overall, this is a great system but I do not know if I can justify a $250 price tag on this. I would say just get the K&N one if you want to save $30. Otherwise, this is still a great system in my experience if you are either residing in California or looking for a drop-in filter system.

Well worth the money product, comes shipped with great wrap and protection and the instructions are easy to follow.

I got the intake in the mail pretty fast. I took it out of the box, and everything looked great. I thought it was a quick bolt on, but I needed to take one of the wheels off to install. It's more complicated than I thought.

The installation of this ram air intake was very easy and took only 15 minutes. All the connections were in exactly the right places. The performance is awesome, with more air being brought into the system, my fuel economy will definitely be improved, which is why I bough this air intake. Along with a Magnaflow exhaust, my Civic runs smoother and is noticeably quicker and responsive. With gas prices being so high, I recommend investing in this intake system.

Product is well made, looks great, installs rather easily, and works well to provide modest performance improvement and good sound. However, the supplied instructions lack sufficient diagrams and are clearly intended for general application which makes it a bit of a guessing game on your particular model if you don't inherently know what you are doing. Most will figure it out; however, on the 01 Integra there is a wiring harness plug attached to a metal bracket thet precludes installation of the PCV assembly tube. The wiring assembly and bracket can be removed and left hanging loose or can be reattached by turning the assembly, redrilling the metal bracket, and securing with a longer machine screw. It is an easy procedure but impossible to properly mount the intake without removal and relocation of the bracket. hence I would say the instructions are significantly deficient despite a superior product.

As advertised, great product, looks awesome, way simple to install. Highly recommend, very happy.

I have a 2000 Civic EX and am noticing a nice little increase in torque and HP at higher RPMs. Plus the engine sounds more growl now when I get on the gas which is more fun of course. Only con is that AEM does not provide illustrated instruction, so they assume you know what every part on your car is called. I pulled up a helpful YouTube video and it was a breeze. Short ram air intake fits perfectly on my 2006 Mazda 6s. Installation was easy with no issues. You can really here the difference when you hit 3rd gear. Sounds great. Doesn't give that great of an increase in performance but I got it for sound and appearance so it's great in that regard.
