Brute Force® Air Intake System by AEM Intakes®. The AEM Intakes Brute Force Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing the vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific vehicle models. Air enters the system through an extra-large AEM Intakes Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance.
The big “deep breathing” engine in your truck, SUV or muscle car needs an AEM Intakes Brute Force Air Intake system to unleash all of its power. AEM Intakes tunes the resonance properties of each vehicle’s system to deliver the maximum amount of air to the engine air inlet. Temperature testing is performed to determine the optimal location for the Dryflow air filter, to achieve the lowest air inlet temperature possible. Most systems also include a powder coated steel heat shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt. As a result, AEM’s Brute Force Air Intake system delivers more torque and horsepower, while at the same time providing critical air filtration that is so important for long engine life. Brute Force filtering element:
All AEM Intakes Brute Force air intake systems come with the innovative, oil-free, high-flow AEM Intakes Dryflow Brute Force air filter. The Dryflow Brute Force air filter is engineered to exceed the normal flow capacities of large displacement engines, while providing outstanding filtration and dust holding capacity. And the flow requirements are exceeded by a wide margin, which allows you plenty of leeway for engine breathing modifications, without needing to worry about having enough intake airflow. The AEM Intakes Dryflow Brute Force filter is constructed of a unique non-woven polyester-based filter media supported by a lightweight mineral-reinforced plastic cage. This filter media doesn’t require oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and actually sheds dirt under engine vibration, unlike cotton-gauze, which holds onto contaminants until you clean the filter. The plastic cage helps the filter retain its shape, eliminating the chance of the filter collapsing from flow demands. The Brute Force filter is a favorite of racing teams competing in rough, dusty conditions. Cleaning is easy: simply tap the filter a few times to remove most of the dirt from the filter pleats, then spray the filter with AEM’s environmentally friendly, mild, all-purpose cleaner. Rinse the filter with clean water and allow to dry, or blow dry with compressed air. Best of all, the Dryflow Brute Force filter requires no oiling, so there’s never a chance of over-oiling. The Dryflow Brute Force filter is extremely durable and will withstand almost unlimited cleanings.
