The Acura Legend was the flagship of the first ever Acura lineup when the brand debuted in 1986. The catchy name proved spot-on as the Legend was a well-engineered car, acclaimed by both buyers and critics as soon as it was launched. Developed in a joint project with the British carmaker Rover, the Acura Legend was available as a 2-door coupe or 4-door sedan, both powered by the first ever Honda V6. The body shape was elegantly sketched and packed with luxury features. The second generation, presented in 1991, emphasized the elegance of the Legend, featuring a more curvaceous silhouette. Acura's logo was also introduced as a sign of the independence from Honda. In 1995, the Legend was discontinued on the U.S. market.
