Back up cameras are proven driver's aids, so beneficial to saving lives and preventing property damage, that all new vehicles must be equipped with them starting in 2018. Back up cameras help to eliminate blind spots, but the rearward view is not the only driver vantage point that can be impaired - it can also be difficult to see and judge distances in front of and to the sides of many vehicles. 360 degree vision systems are the next step in the evolution of driver visual assistance, with 4 cameras that provide a panoramic view around the vehicle for the ultimate in safety.

It can be impossible to see immediately to the sides of most vehicles, especially the right side, and misjudgment when parallel parking can result in wheels and tires scraped against the curb. On many aerodynamic vehicles and large trucks and SUVs it can be difficult to judge the edge of the front bumper and fenders when parking and during low speed maneuvers, with ensuing scratched paint and crumpled sheet metal if distances are miscalculated. A 4 camera 360 Degree Vision System will put a clear view of these areas right on your vehicle's video display, to take the guesswork out of driving.

360 Degree Vision Systems, also called Surround View or Bird's Eye View systems, are currently standard or optional equipment on some high-end luxury models, but you don't have to spend a lot of money on an expensive new vehicle to get this valuable aid to safe driving. We offer both universal and model specific 360 Degree Vision Systems that can be installed on your current car, truck, or SUV. In addition to parking assistance, these systems can provide many other benefits. Large delivery vehicles often have to maneuver in tight spaces. You can prevent damage to your own and other vehicles with a 4 camera system. And having an extra set of "eyes" in the right place when navigating tight and rocky trails in a Jeep can make off-roading safer and more fun.

Some of the systems you'll find on our digital shelves are designed to be used with the factory display screen, while others are for use with an aftermarket monitor. Included with each kit are 4 wide angle view cameras, a control module, the appropriate wiring harnesses, and a control pad that enables manual control of camera view. On model specific kits, the rear camera may be integrated with the tailgate handle, center high mount stoplight or spare tire mount. Front cameras may be mounted in the grille or on the bumper, depending on application, and side cameras are designed to be mounted under the side view mirrors. Universal camera mounts are included with universal kits. Some front and side mount camera housings can be painted to match the vehicle.

During operation, the 4 cameras stitch together the images from the front, rear, and sides to create a bird's eye view of your vehicle and its spatial relation to the surrounding vehicles and objects, so you can guide your vehicle safely and precisely in any maneuver. When in reverse, the rear camera image and parking assist lines appear along with the bird's eye view. When in forward gear, the control pad can be manipulated to switch between split screen bird's eye and front view, full front view, and split screen front and side views. Most kits require a separate calibration kit and windows PC to accurately calibrate the 360 Degree Vision System before it can be used, and professional installation is recommended.
