But LEDs are particularly appropriate for brake lights because of their faster rise time. They light up 0.2 seconds faster than incandescent bulbs, which may not sound like much, but when you consider that at 60 mph a car travels 88 ft. in one second, that time can give the driver behind almost 20 ft. of additional stopping distance - extra road that can be the difference between braking in time and an unfortunate collision.
All this brilliant illumination comes in rugged, black ABS plastic housings with impact resistant lenses that together form durable, weatherproof assemblies. Lumen LED Tail Lights are physically the same size as the OE lights, so you can install light guards or other accessories designed for the factory lights. Direct fit, bolt-on construction and plug-and-play wiring means easy installation, so you can quickly be enjoying your Lumen tail lights. However, since LEDs don’t use as much power as halogen bulbs, some vehicles may exhibit flickering, bulb out warnings, or dashboard error messages when LED lights are installed in place of halogen lights. Resistors and/or CAN Bus decoders are available to eliminate such problems; however, they are not included and must be purchased separately.
