The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing on your vehicle are replaced by this K&N air intake system which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow.

The improved air flow allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout your engine’s RPM range. The air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive chrome-like finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and a couple of replacement silicone crank case vent hoses. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less. Some K&N 77 series air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

How Long Does the Coverage Last?

K&N Intake

The intake was very easy to install. All you got to do is follow the instructions that they give you. The heat shield was kinda of a pain to get in but it makes a big difference once its in, and whether or not it's sucking in hot or fresh air from the fender. I also bought a steeda intake throttle spacer which pushed it into the headlight a bit but it still fits. I was just thinking about cutting the intake pipe to make the filter not rest on the headlight housing. The steeda intake throttle spacer spacer is about an inch thick and if it wasn't installed the intake would fit perfectly.

K&N Intake - Ford Edge 2008 Limited

I recently installed this on my Ford Edge and what a difference it makes. I currently get .5 more MPG but I have only had it on a week so I will have to monitor it as time goes on. It adds pep to the car and adds a nice sound under the hood. The only negative comment I have is the painting on the intake was inside some of the screw holes and we had to "re-thread" the hole to finish the set-up so they could have been a little more careful with the spaying of the solver paint, but overall, it adds some nice eye candy under the hood. Other than that one issue, the install went very well.
