Pure® - Custom Style Fiberglass Rear Spoiler InstallationPure® - Custom Style Fiberglass Rear Spoiler Installation

Spoilers are used on race cars to provide downforce at the rear of the car, and in some cases improve aerodynamics. On street cars, spoilers are installed more for show than anything else, and for this purpose the Custom Style Rear Spoiler excels. It looks the part, like it would be functional at super legal speeds, but more importantly it has the shape that says speed even when your car's parked.

The Custom Style Rear Spoiler is made of high quality material. The spoiler comes with everything necessary for a hassle free installation, including detailed instructions.

And although it can be ordered unpainted, Pure strongly encourages you to select the painted option. The company’s computerized paint mixing system enables them to guarantee that your spoiler will match your factory paint, and it's unlikely that a local body shop will be able to paint your spoiler for less than the price difference.

The Custom Style Rear Spoiler is manufactured in the USA. Pure warrants the spoiler against manufacturer's defects for a period of 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Subpar
Came in great shape great time on delivery but I can’t help notice that the spoiler looks completely different. The end caps are larger and come down. Where as the one shipped is stout. Other than that it’s great quality for the price

Custom Style Fiberglass Rear Spoiler (Painted)
Very good quality, Paint matches perfectly Easy to install with 3M double back tape which is provided. No drilling nor screws necessary. Attachment is very secure. Love the fact that it gives my car a big boost in style.

Finally Got It!
It took over a week to get to me. The finish paint is very good, perfect color match. Looks great installed. Now to the problems, there is no way to secure the spoiler with the screw hardware provided. Where the spoiler mounts rest on the deck lid, there are inner reinforcements under the trunk sheet metal. Using longer screws, you can drill through the skin and the reinforcement to secure the outer mounts. The inner mounts are directly over the full reinforcement. I drilled a larger relief hole through the reinforcement to allow access to the inner mounts and used two screws to secure. Before snugging up all the screws, I removed the mounting tape backing and secured the spoiler. I suppose that between two screws and tape, it would have been OK. But, I’m sure they engineered 4 screw mounts for a reason.

Far Exceeded My Expectations!
I bought a low mileage used 2010 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0L in November 2021 with OEM Smokestone Mettalic exterior paint in excellent condition. But for some reason, the vehicle came without a spoiler. One of the first upgades I did to the vehicle was adding this OEM style spoiler. At first I was worried about drilling into the pristine trunk lid, but when I discovered how easy installation was after watching a few YouTube videos, I was 100% committed to making this install work. The drill points are already marked on the underside of the trunk lid from the factory, so it's hard to make a mistake. The spoiler arrived quickly, was well packed with no damage and is reasonably priced. The paint matched the vehicle's factory exterior color perfectly. Install took about an hour of taking my time, masking off the paint to prevent any cracking or scratches, and getting the holes drilled just the right size. The screws and nuts that came with the spoiler are exactly like OEM - I have a 2011 Ford Fusion with the factory spoiler that I used for comparision. Just be sure to use clear silicone on the trunk underside of the bolt locations to prevent any possible water leakage and to prevent the nuts from loosening up in the future. I would highly recommend Pure OEM style rear spoilers to anyone looking to add a little class and sportiness to their plain-Jane 2010 - 2012 Ford Fusion.

Factory Style Fiberglass Rear Spoiler
Hi, I ordered this Rear Spolier for my Saab 9-3/2008. I'm so happy, I chose the color for my Saab 278 and everything is perfect! Thank you so much for a great job!! Only downside for me who lives in Sweden I had to pay additional tax 110 $ when they leave packages to me! Do not know if you can write a lower amount when ordering, which reduces the tax. Sincerely, Tony Sweden

Excellent Finish, Not Ideal Screw Placements
I ended up having to glue the spoiler onto my trunk deck, because the screw holes in the spoiler were positioned as such to make them visible on truck lid underside. I have another 2002 BMW 330ci that has a factory spoiler after which the CARiD product appears to have been designed, and that one has the screws hidden underneath the underside lid lining/covering. Ideally this spoiler I purchased would have had the screws similarly situated. But the gluing seems to have worked, and it looks great.

Unpainted Is Not Ready for Paint at All
Bought an unpainted version and wasn't that happy with the finish and amount of filling and sanding that was required. Will add a second review for the painted version upon arrival. No shop could match the paint and finish the product for painting at the price comparison point of the two choices.

Easy to Install
Ordered mine to be prepaid red and it looked great. Install was easy, but did have to drill out a bracket in the trunk to GAO access to the trunk lid drill sites so that I could place the screws. Looks fantastic!
